We were lucky to play on probably the only sunny day so far this year and were expecting to be knee deep in water / mud due to the storms we have had over the last month or so. All I can say is the groundstaff need to be awarded medals! The natural drainage helps to get water off the course but the condition was something I would expect during the early summer. The greens were slower than exptected but they were true and in great condition. Having now played the course 4 times, we have never been disappointed and the layout, apart from being rather long between some green's and tee's, is interesting at every turn with a number of the holes, especially the 6th, being up there with the best. Can't wait to return.

This is a most picturesque course around an old country estate. The first four holes are uninteresting but then you forge off around the estate with spectacular holes around water. The iconic 11th and 18th holes use the view of the old country house to maximum effect as well as creating straight but facinating holes of golf. Overall a real treat even in the winter when the grass on some of the early holes is not at its best.

I have now played this course several times as I have a membership at one of the local clubs. After seeing the course develop and talking to the staff about the future plans. I'm now keen to take up my membership at Heythrop Park. In terms of what is on offer here compared to the normal members club in the area, there is no choice, Heythrop! The membership fee is certainly affordable at £999 and with the deal of 1 extra month, for me its a great deal to play one of the best golf courses in the South. Dont wait too long as I understand the price will be going back up once they get up to 300 members. Currently they are at around the 140 mark, which is a lot better than this time last year as I think the figure was around 30!! The management must be doing something right!!

Heythrop Park has come alive over the summer!
The course is in great same with the greens running fast and true and certainly developing into one of the best courses I have played.

We managed to play for £20 in September which was a great deal. Worth contacting the club for Winter rates if you want to play a challenging course this winter.

Heythrop is a magnificent location, and some spectacular views. Teeing off over a wall is a bit tricky, and the 4th hole has a wall all along the right hand side! The clubhouse was excellent, and playing there on a Golfshake Golf day was tremendous. I would recommend a visit, and it is a tough course!

Set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, this 18-hole championship golf course provides a tough test of all abilities.

The combination of the high quality driving range and perfectly manicured putting green means that you will be fully prepared on the first tee.

The opening holes at Heythrop provide a comfortable start to the round, with short par-4s and a reachable par-5 for many, it is important to get off to a good start.

As you reach the middle part of the front nine, you are faced with two holes that are not only test of golfing ability, but also provide a test of course management. Two shot par-4's give the longer hitters an opportunity to go for the green, but be careful, as there is plenty of water and deep bunkers waiting to punish wayward shots.

As you reach the turn on this compelling golf course, you are soon faced with the signature hole - the par 5 11th. The long and narrow par-5 requires a carefully placed tee shot followed by a calculated lay up in order to give yourself the best angle into the green. Room for error is limited on this hole and any approaches pushed to the right will find themselves at the bottom of the picturesque lake that lies beside the green.

The closing holes at Heythrop provide a true test of nerve and golfing ability. The par-3 13th is among the finest par-3s in the country, and requires a well-struck long iron to guarantee a birdie putt.

The final hole at Heythrop lays claim to being among the straightest holes in golf. A long and tree lined par-5 provides a tough finish for any golfer, and par on this hole will always be accepted.

Overall the quality and undulations of the greens combined with the well-manicured fairways make this golf course a pleasure to play; and the uniqueness of every hole is a credit to the design of the course. Well worth playing and definitely a course I would recommend.

Unbelievable Greens

Played 2 rounds at Heythrop park last weekend in testing conditions. As many other courses were closed due to the weather. Heythrop remained open and was in great condition all round except for a handful of spots that was soft. Greens were unbelievably in great condition. Hardly any pitch parks at all and were running very fast even in the rain to my dismay. Looking forward to playing this gem on a sunny day in 2024

St George?s day

Played Heythrop park for our annual St George?s day competition and we was not disappointed, greens and fairways were perfect. Only thing that could maybe be improved would be better markings on the tee boxes. Will definitely be returning
