Very slow play

Started at 12.30 finished at 5.30 behind 3 x 4 balls playing texas scramble. No control by the club, no warden. Basically tough. £60 for myself and my wife. Day ruined.

Poor conditions

We played this course in August and the conditions are really poor. I was told they dont have adequate equipment to cut the grass in certain areas.
We were a large society day and we had buggies break down and when we arrived we were told they had run out of range balls. Disappointing.

Greens were all being worked on and all bunkers were dug up or had no sand in them. They didn't even bother to mark these as GUR. At no point when booking my tee time or even when paying on arrival were we informed of this. The walks between holes on the back 9 were laughable. Club house prices also extortionate although due to our complaints post round they gave us a free drink (but not a panini at £6.95 each)...

A long slow walk

Started at 230pm, finished at 730. Very slow pace of play, lots of long walks between holes which ruined the round and the course for me. The course is interesting and very tough. Many blind shots which makes it tricky for a visitor. Wonderful views of house. Pro shop is not well stocked or staffed!

conditions gone badly downhill

lovely layout and scenery but the overall condition is poor, clearly no effort going into greenkeeping. Everything from tees, fairways, greens and even the buggy paths are in a sorry state.

Greens are terrible. After the 4th hole the course gets interesting. The walks between the holes are long!

Great course, but in poor condition. Would play again. Need to invest in green keepers.

The course is good and challenging (see my score). It just takes too long to play and there is no real clubhouse or pro shop to talk of.

Course is great, can't complain at all about that. But a 6.5 hr round?! There were 7 four balls queued on the 1st tee and it transpired talking among the groups that the club were packing them in with 4 4-balls scheduled to tee off in 10 mins. So a slow round already then imagine our group's surprise arriving on the 10th (usually at this point with a 10-15 min wait every tee) that a further 18 were queueing here to tee off. Terrible organisation. Our second round we saw people driving buggies on the greens and playing down the 18th as a group of 8. Ridiculously badly managed - the course is a gem, but they need to manage it, have a Marshall and a starter. Clubhouse is terrible too - tiny building, no real shop and a bar whose only real food option on the Sunday afternoon was a tuna sandwich. Didnt make uou want to hang around and spend your money there - no off-course experience whatsoever. Great course, poor management and real lack of facilities.

This course could be fantastic, but unfortunately you can tell the whole place is all about the hotel, the golf course is just an add on, the greens were longer than the fairways at my local course!!!! Such a shame as the scenery etc is lovely, massive let down.
