1st nine are straightforward but enjoyable - however the back nine is a different beast altogether - very good holes with different challenges on each hole - make your score on the 1st nine then work hard to protect it till the finish

Bawtry GC is at the start of major investment by the new owners and work has already started with the installation of new winter /summer tee's, the course was in fantastic condition with the greens being right up there with the best I have played. I would like to pass on our thanks to the staff and particularly to Sam in the pro shop for giving us such a warm welcome I can't wait to return.

I've played this course many times with friends and in my society. The course is well kept with nice tees, fairways, bunkers and big greens. I would say its not a too difficult course and not too long but you should use some course management. There is a nice club house and pro shop. The course I believe is under new management so there is a lot of work being done to improve it. I also believe there is a hotel of some sort in the pipeline. Its good value for money and is worth a visit.

Disappointing that the club (under new buyers) no longer takes 2-4-1 vouchers from the Purple Book, thus rendering the round overpriced at £30 per player. I am not aware of the club publicising this fact, eg by their website. The course is undergoing maintenance but the greens are still good and the fairway ok. The club is obviously seeking to maximise revenue as our tee time was immediately after a ladies' medal, which was itself after the mens' medal. To be fair, the ladies fourball in front were not particularly slow but we were held up on the front 9 for most of the holes.

Good to see a wide range of improvements in progress on the course - worth putting up with little temporary inconveniences.
Very disappointing to be refused service at the bar at precisely 5 o'clock because 'we close at 5', and not in a polite manner - maybe the new owners will learn where the shortfalls in customer service lie, and act upon it...
