What the club says: Historic Styrrup Hall is set in 150 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds dating back to the Doomsday Book. Surrounded by stunning wood lands, you'll soon realise this truly is more than just a golf course.

The par 73 6745 yards course, from the white tees, is challenging and well presented having matured substantially since its opening in 2000. The excellent drainage guarantees play all year round, giving the course a good reputation both locally and further afield.

Great nick and new procedures

I haven?t played the course for over a year due to experiencing many other courses during lockdown, however what a pleasure to be back when it?s in this good nick. New wristbands to show you?ve paid, a Marshall on tee 1 and the course in superb condition. The combination of long and short holes always gave it a better feel than other courses in the area and it weathers every type of conditions. Food and drink have always been top notch here and now they have made it all a bit more professional I can see only improvements in the future. We played on a Thursday twilight and paid ?13.75 each .. wow .. what a bargain !

Excellent.

First round since re-opening of golf courses. I’m a regular visitor to Styrrup and had a really good day out, course was in very good nick considering a month of frosts and no rain. Greens rolled well, semi and fairways well presented, bunkers very tidy considering no rakes, couple of beers on the patio very enjoyable.

Plated at Last

Played with small society group 20 August. Most of our group from Cambs have passed the course when travelling on the A1 so made the effort to include it on a golfing mini break On arrival got a decent breakfast and use of driving range and putting green prior to play.. Course has a variety of long and shorter holes with a monster par 5 measuring 700 yards off the back but we were put well forward to 560 yards. Layout was very good with frequent changes of direction. Fairways were mostly generous although greens well bunkered and difficult to read. The overall condition of the course is very good. Clubhouse facilities were quite comprehensive in spite of COVID restrictions. Staff were all pleasant and helpful
Well worth a visit, make the effort to play the course seen from the A1. Great bargain at £20,

Its a cracking course in great condition

What a cracking course, a bit of a favourite for me. I was a member here in 2002 and boy hasn't it grown to be a big boy now.

Challenging course - Variety of holes

Some walking between Tees and cross-overs of path.
Confusing to visitors - could improve signposting.

Played this course in February 2020 when the weather wasn?t great. The course was in decent condition. I should imagine this course will be in great condition in the summer months so looking forward to playing it again.

Good value

Played mon 3rd feb. Having not played for a few months due to the prolonged wet South Yorkshire autumn/winter I was pleasantly surprised how dry the course was ( only a couple of wet areas on the 6th hole ) overall course played well, greens a little bobbily but nicely paced, on all normal tee boxes and the bunkers were in good condition ( ground staff were adding new sand on our visit) . Joined up with 2 other visitors as the pace was a little slow in front but still
Thoroughly enjoyed our day for 15quid

All weather course worth a go

This is one of the nearest courses to my home and its a real peach in winter weather as rarely on temps or mats. This also means its hard to get on at weekends in the winter. It has some really difficult holes in 3, 6, 9 and 16 but in between some lovely easier holes. Often overlooked, but worth a visit and does great food too.

Mr

Enjoyable course, not just for the big hitters (although that helps!). Lots of dog-legs that need a bit of thought to make your shot to the green as easy as possible. Some tough greens depending on pin position. Friendly bar staff combined to make this a really good day out.

Not a bad course to play

Pleasant staff, and a pleasure to play in adverse conditions. Course could do with a spruce up especially on greens where unfortunately too many golfers do not repair their pitch marks.
The course is relatively flat and quite open.
