Spring has Sprung

Course is quite a picture right now with the Bluebells, Rhododendrons and new foliage on some amazingly shaped trees. Whilst consistent in terms of speed the greens a bit of a let down as very patchy.
It's quirky but great value

Little gem

Game was certainly not to par but this fairly local course that I hadn't played previous was a delight. Small greens and trees are its main defence whilst the bunkering was well placed and very well presented. 9 holes, 12 greens, 18 tees; at some point will definately be back

Nice but tricky shorter course. It's 9 holes but you can play 18 off different tee boxes. Lots of trees.

Hidden Gem, You Need to Go

Serlby is an unknown course just outside Bawtry in Doncaster. Even the local golfers do not know it exists, but its a gem ! Its a nine hole course with 18 tee positions so you go around twice and play different versions of the same holes. Yes, it sounds confusing, but it does actually work well. Always in mint condition as it has a small membership, but they are very inviting. You can book online through BRS from their website and I would certainly suggest playing it, as you won't be disappointed. Hole 4 is the hardest, a 5 is decent on this hole !

Lovely and quiet 9/18 holer

I am a regular here now, although not a member, and its a fantastic 9 hole challenge or 18 from different tee positions on the second nine. A very quiet course which can be booked and paid for online via the BRS system on their website. Nice clubhouse and facilities and I know there are plans to make this course much better known locally.

Dissapointed

Having played the course and enjoying it in early spring I decided to see what it was like in the summer and after the 1st hole things were not looking good,The greens are the worst ive played on for a long time( patchy and bobble).

The Hidden Gem

This nine hole course (yes it's nine whatever anyone says) is a hidden gem and needs to be unhidden to keep it going. You can play a second nine from different tee points but it's much the same on the way around and if it's busy (rare) you can get problems when you tee off on the 10th if you meet a medal or ladies day. As a nine hole course there is not a better one in Doncaster. Use TeeOffTimes to book as never anyone there to answer the phone. Course is interesting and tight in places, but the beauty of it is that it's never busy as it's so hidden away. Find it and play it.
