Beware - winter greens!
Booked on Teeofftimes. However there was no warning that winter greens were in play - even at the end of August.Reviewer Rating

Disappointing that the club (under new buyers) no longer takes 2-4-1 vouchers from the Purple Book, thus rendering the round overpriced at £30 per player. I am not aware of the club publicising this fact, eg by their website. The course is undergoing maintenance but the greens are still good and the fairway ok. The club is obviously seeking to maximise revenue as our tee time was immediately after a ladies' medal, which was itself after the mens' medal. To be fair, the ladies fourball in front were not particularly slow but we were held up on the front 9 for most of the holes.

Disappointing 6
Not impressed with a course I haven't played for 20 years and won't be hurrying back. Possibly the recent wet weather probably hasn't helped but still not a course that I would wish to play anytime soon. There are clearly issues with tee times as ours was over 30 minutes late due to presumably poor management of allocated starting arrangements.Reviewer Rating

Badly run club
I used to be a member here but now only visit occasionally. The new owners are clearly in it for short term profit. A big part of a successful club is value for money and being respected as a customer. Try ringing the pro-shop, generally no answer. Try ringing the main office, generally no answer. Driving range ball dispenser not been updated since the new £1 coins came in so generally unusable. Concessions for BIGGA members? No. Try turning up at 5.30 in the height of summer - all locked up. And the cost of a round? Way too high for the overall experience.
Having said all of that, the guy in the pro-shop is very polite and amenable, the fairways are good and the greens very good.
Watch what happens when the new course opens nearby.

Winter mats/winter course
The course was in good condition for the end of November, greens smooth and true. However the course is played from mats, the best mats according to the pro shop. Whilst the mats are indeed good quality it is nigh on impossible to put a tee peg in them. The majority of them are not lined up with the direction of the hole. Some of the holes have been reduced slightly in length due to winter conditions, however that means that 2 par 5s become incredibly long par 4\'s. The 12th remains a par 5 despite being virtually the same length as the 10th and 13th which are now par 4\'s. The 14th is now an incredibly long par 3. The stroke indexes do not seem to match the difficulty of the holes. Will go again, used to be a member but SORT IT OUTReviewer Rating

Nicely Kept Course, Bit Pricey
Always in lovely condition as the course is well protected in winter, there are also really good winter tees which help. The course itself has been tidied up over the last few years and its made it much better to play, but it costs ?30 a round and thats just too much compared to local options. Often hard to get a drink or food because of the lack of staff there during the day time. If they get the developments up and running which have been promised for a while now, it could be worth re-visiting. Until then, its a nice course, but needs to be more like ?20-25 to play.Reviewer Rating
