Luton Hoo Hotel is a magnificent, grande country mansion set in beautiful gardens. A real gem. The golf course however is disappointing in the extreme and does not reflect the grandeur of the house.
Luton Hoo Golf Course course gives the impression of being hastily put together across flat unused farm land. Unlike the mansion, there are no memorable features. No bunkers. Some water but nothing exciting. An experience akin to a trudge across neglected grazing pasture. Trying to spot the course signage was a hilarious distraction from the tedium! Probably the worst course played this year. Oh dear Luton Hoo, are you leaning too heavily on your 5* Mansion & Spa reputation ? Complacency is dangerous. I have played a lot of 'lesser' renowned courses this year that are far far better and deliver amazing value for money by comparison.

Felt like a golf course cut out of a field. Greens decent if not a little inconsistent but fairways average at best, tee boxes terrible, course just felt like it's not seen water for months, and cut by Combine harvesters rather than mowers.

Great location and great potential but having not played for 5 years I don't feel it's moved forward since

They have narrowed the fairways and let the rough grow. The trees have matured. This is a long, tough course, but in pretty good nick. good value.

A beautiful, well maintained parkland course. Enjoyable even for the higher handicap player primarily due to no bunkers, although water comes into play on six holes up to the 12th. Longish being 6544 off yellow tees and 5 par 5's, but don't let that put you off.

Overall a very nice course. Fairways nicely kept and the greens were true but perhaps a little slower than you would expect on a championship course. Front nine is fairly open whereas the back nine is a lot tighter due to a lot of well established trees. On a brighter note there are no bunkers to capture those wayward shots to the green. On the down side the constant stream of low flying aircraft heading in to Luton airport could prove to be a distraction. Pro shop and club house facilities were good. However, food and drink were quite over priced.

A good course. Not a huge amount of character. I thought I was playing well because I wasn't going into any bunkers - then I realised there are no bunkers.

It was an okay course to play with wide fairways. Greens were in good condition.

I had not played for aroubnd two years and on this visit i was not impressed at all, however i was invited back recently and reluctantly agreed. \I am so glad that i did as this course has made huge improvements of the last year or so.\The playing surfaces were fantastic, the rough was a lot fairer and the whole experience i felt was excellent value for money. The guys in the shop were really helpful and looking forward to playing again soon\

Good course and great facilities. Weather also helped but for most of the round we had no one immediately in front or behind us.

We got a midweek fourball in February for just £12 each, so excellent value. Only saw 8 other golfers on the whole course, being a single, 3 ball and 4 ball, so very much "millionaires golf" as friends call it. Sometimes difficult to see where you're supposed to be going when there's no-one to follow!

10 holes are very open, although there are hundreds of trees planted, which will make it a lot more interesting (in 30 or 40 years!) - fair bit of water about on those holes. The other 8 holes are among full grown and therefore very large trees, some of which have to be hit over no matter where you are on a few of the holes!

If you don't like bunkers; you'll love this course - not a single bunker on the whole course, which I have never seen before anywhere in the world.

Signage to get to the golf club car park is quite poor - take my tip, and head right in front of the main Luton Hoo house, and then park a long way into the car park (near the tennis courts) so you don't have to walk too far to the pro shop.
