What the club says: The course was designed by Charles Lawrie and it opened for the first time in 1973. It has developed brilliantly in that time and is one of the finest courses in the region, a fact its numerous members will no doubt back up. It's a fine test of golf no matter how you play the game, and so is well worth playing.

Great course
Great public course at a great price. Mixture of wide open fairways and some tree lined ones with a couple of long par 5?s thrown in as a test. Good pin positions but make sure read what the 3 coloured flags mean before starting. Driving range next to the pro shop is only ?4 for 30 balls, great for a warm up before heading to the first tee. Well looked after fairways and greens and the rough is fairly light. Tee times bookable online and there is also a 9 hole short course to practice short game.Reviewer Rating

Nice couse -
Course ExperiencePlaying at Stockwood Park Golf Course was an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. The course offers a delightful blend of challenge and beauty, making it suitable for golfers of all skill levels. As an intermediate golfer, I found the layout to be both stimulating and forgiving in just the right measures.
Layout and Design
The 18-hole, par 69 course spans over 6,000 yards, presenting a diverse array of holes that keep you engaged from start to finish. The mix of short par 3s and longer par 5s demands a variety of shots, which I appreciated. The strategic placement of bunkers and water hazards adds a layer of complexity that tests your course management skills. Hole 6, in particular, stood out with its dogleg left, requiring a precise tee shot to set up a manageable approach.
Course Condition
The greens are superbly maintained, fast, and true, providing a satisfying putting surface. The fairways were in good condition, although they can get a bit muddy after heavy rain, which is typical for parkland courses in the UK. Overall, the maintenance crew does an excellent job keeping the course in top shape, and it shows in the quality of play.
Facilities
Stockwood Park's facilities complement the golfing experience nicely. The clubhouse is cozy and offers a friendly atmosphere to unwind after a round. The pro shop is well-stocked with a variety of equipment and apparel, which was convenient for picking up a few necessities. The café serves decent food and drinks, perfect for refueling after a game. I also made use of the driving range and practice areas, which are great for warming up or honing specific skills.
