What the club says: The course was designed by Charles Lawrie and it opened for the first time in 1973. It has developed brilliantly in that time and is one of the finest courses in the region, a fact its numerous members will no doubt back up. It's a fine test of golf no matter how you play the game, and so is well worth playing.

Slope Index is ridiculous

Slope Index v Caddington is ridiculous. I regularly play Stockwood to 18, but Caddington I struggle to play to 22. Whoever decides the Courses Slope Index is way out!

Reasonable value

Greens uniform but a little slow. Fairway grass a little long.
Nice open fairways and a good pace of play.

Shocking condition

I have fond memories of this course as I used to play it a lot coming from the area. They clearly haven?t looked after this place during lockdown!!!

Good course

I?ve played here many times before and am always impressed with the quality of the course and once again it lived up to my expectations. The only negative comments I have is the cost of the round which was ?17.50 for a senior, when I last played there about two years ago it was about ?12.00. It might be that they have increased it quite a bit to make for the money lost during lockdown. The pace of play was very slow and after the first hole it was a case of waiting to tee off on every hole. These negatives apart I will definitely return here to play.

Just your typical council run course. Nothing special. Not worth £29.50p. Should be at least £10 cheaper.

The course was in very good condition considering the lack of recent rain. The semi rough is very short which was very forgiving even helpful. Unfortunately there is one fixed price £21 which is steep considering as a senior I used to pay £14 before lockdown.reasonable save distancing precautions.

Outstanding pay and play

Firstly, well done to the staff for the proper running of Covid requirements. Secondly to the green keepers, don?t know how you manage to keep the quality with the level of player turnover. Well done all. Anyway, it?s just first class, from beginning to end. I don?t find the course memorable for holes, but For quality I do.

Excellent track

Good value for a Council course. Very open, so not difficult, but greens were in good shape and a credit to the council
