Nice course, greens were in great condition, not too fast very true but best of all held the ball so you are able to attack the pin with confidence knowing that it's not going to bounce through. I really enjoyed playing this course, the only slight drawback is that there's quite a bit of walking between the holes from green to tee. Overall it's a great course, green keepers have done a great job keeping the rough under control making it easy to find and play your ball even if you miss the fairway.

This course is always kept in excellent condition throughout the year, which is why I became a member in 2012 and have just renewed my membership

I recently joined as a member at Styrrup Golf Club. Greens are in excellent condition as so are the fairways. This course is fairly challenging and tight in some places. The course is fairly long. You will be able to use a driver off most of the tees. As I play with a handicap of 26 it is the ideal course for me to improve my game. All the staff are very friendly as to are all the members, and facilities are fantastic (Driving Range, Club House - excellent meals and a nice pint, Pro Shop - stocked well, Putting Practise Green, Chipping Practice Area and plenty of parking) The course is fairly new with plenty of new trees and shrubs that are not fully grown. I can imagine in a few years time it will be a very challenging and imaculate course if it is looked after in the way it already is. Would highly recommend this golf club to anyone of any standard.

Very good

Played Friday 15th. Really enjoyed it. Course only had a couple of wet areas which is a miracle currently. Always have a good experience at Styrrup. Course in good nick considering recent weather.

Worth a Visit

A fairly flat long course set in mature parkland. Course in very good condition after prolonged rain.
The greens were in excellent order but a little slow probably due to the rain. Hole 3 a par 5 is the longest hole I have ever played being 664 yds off yellow tees, the only comfort being straight with a generous fairway. The clubhouse is very modern after a recent refurbishment with a very good pro shop.
The only negative is the distance between tee boxes but give it a try you will not be disappointed and you will receive a warm welcome.

Upgraded course and clubhouse

If you have not been to SHGC for a while, you need to come back as it's a completely different level of good now. Bunkers are best around, fairways in great condition and cut like pro courses, refurbished pro shop, restaurant, coffee shop, golfers bay outside and newly cleaned out areas of rough. The new owners are pushing for it to become one of the best in the north and it's going about it in the right way. For me the 6th, 9th and 16th off yellows challenge any player and none of those are SI1. There is a new balcony bar overlooking the 18th for members and day golfers to use which is fantastic. Plus if you fancy treating your other half the new 71 restaurant serves some of the best food in Doncaster. Visit and you'll be very pleased you came or came back. Oh and finally the full English breakfast we had before the round, absolutely spot on!
