Plated at Last
Played with small society group 20 August. Most of our group from Cambs have passed the course when travelling on the A1 so made the effort to include it on a golfing mini break On arrival got a decent breakfast and use of driving range and putting green prior to play.. Course has a variety of long and shorter holes with a monster par 5 measuring 700 yards off the back but we were put well forward to 560 yards. Layout was very good with frequent changes of direction. Fairways were mostly generous although greens well bunkered and difficult to read. The overall condition of the course is very good. Clubhouse facilities were quite comprehensive in spite of COVID restrictions. Staff were all pleasant and helpfulWell worth a visit, make the effort to play the course seen from the A1. Great bargain at £20,

All weather course worth a go
This is one of the nearest courses to my home and its a real peach in winter weather as rarely on temps or mats. This also means its hard to get on at weekends in the winter. It has some really difficult holes in 3, 6, 9 and 16 but in between some lovely easier holes. Often overlooked, but worth a visit and does great food too.Reviewer Rating

Mr
Enjoyable course, not just for the big hitters (although that helps!). Lots of dog-legs that need a bit of thought to make your shot to the green as easy as possible. Some tough greens depending on pin position. Friendly bar staff combined to make this a really good day out.Reviewer Rating

Not a bad course to play
Pleasant staff, and a pleasure to play in adverse conditions. Course could do with a spruce up especially on greens where unfortunately too many golfers do not repair their pitch marks. The course is relatively flat and quite open.

Always great in winter
One of my nearest courses and always guaranteed to be playing well in winter weather while other courses are on mats, temps or closed. Some challenging holes and some long ones too which keeps everyone interested. Pity we were behind some elderly members who didn't feel like they should let a two ball in a buggy through even though they were 3 holes behind the chaps in front of them.Reviewer Rating

Course keeps getting better
First played this one about 14 years ago and it hadn't been open very long then (2000 it opened I believe) and you could see then the potential it had. It's now matured into a challenging yet fun course with some quirky holes (the pair of long par 5s on the front 9 - holes 3 and 4 immediately spring to mind - as does the short par 4 7th) and it's well worth a visit. The tee boxes and greens were watered and cut, the fairways were rolling nicely and there was plenty of sand in the bunkers greenside and enough in the fairway bunkers to not need one of the more lofted clubs to get out of them. I played with a member on a Thursday, in August, just after lunch and it cost me 13 quid! Bargain!
