Tough Test
Real test of your golfing skills, especially when the wind blows (which strangely it always seems too on the back 9)?..nice mix of holes and it seems to play a lot longer than it is. Best breakfasts on our golf society rota too! And always great value for money.Reviewer Rating

A good municipal course
A well laid out course with a mixture of ravines, water, trees & some blind shots.The greens are absolutely superb except for the problem which haunts every golf club, pitch marks!! Why can't people repair them?
It lacks signage in a couple of places 14th to 15th & 17th to 18th, plus a couple of black & white markers, especially one on the 12th.
However I went out at twilight for ?10, bargain.
Overall a good municipal which I'll definitely be re-visiting

Pace of play is a major issue
I played here on saturday 18/07, it took 5 hours and 15 mins to get around. Every time we got to a tee there was a group in the fairway and one on the green, 3 on the hole. I dont know if the members are slow or if it was lots of visitors. The main contributing factor to it was the set up of the course, the rough was ridiculous and people were spending loads of time looking for balls, dropping or hacking out. The first cut was 2/3 inches deep, the penatlies for just missing the fairway were unreal. The course is challenging as it is with all the hazards and quick greens. \\There is no need for a course to be set up like that for average and below average golfers, it just makes the pace of play painfully slow. \\The actual condition of the course is good and the greens are excellent, they just need to look at how to improve the speed of play, cutting the rough would make a big differenceReviewer Rating

Highly popular
A highly popular public course, and rightly so, it is very well kept, with excellent greens, and well priced. Unfortunately attracts some groups who have no idea of golf etiquette, just wandering on your fairway if they have miss hit their ball, or no idea of letting others through as they look for wayward balls. I feel the club could do a bit more to remind them of common courtesies.Reviewer Rating

First time here after COVID 19 lockdown. Course played very well. Different Tbox positions due to ongoing repairs etc.
