Played very long with the wind on the day. Prices at the bar are insane. Course in good nick though and a good day all round.

Played here in a comp on 12th April. The course itself has a great layout and there are a lot of different holes (none of them are really the same). The thing that I didn't like about the course is that in certain places such as one of the par 5s there are 'environmental areas' which on this hole was right down the middle of the fairway and also to the right of the fairway. If your ball goes in these you are not even allowed to look for your ball and you are to take a one shot penalty. Am I the only one who thinks up this is ridiculous? I mean surely you should just get a free drop out if your ball goes in it. They are in several places around the course. Also the greens were awful! Yes they had just been treated so were sandy and bobbly however in my honest opinion I don't think that they would be great even if they hadn't been treated. If the greens manage to recover then they will be tough as they are very undulating and big.
The facilities are good at Wychwood. The pro shop and clubhouse are very nice as is the de vere hotel!
In summary the course layout was good. Greens were poor. Environmental areas in the middle of the fairway is odd!

Long walk when carrying the bag. Tight cut fairways very links like, good greens, tough track overall.

As i have mentioned on my other Wychwood Park review lost far to many balls in the second rough and then in the rough. for the social golfers like in our group i don't think we would be going back. in total my round has to account for 11 penalties for the round making my round high scoring very disappointing

this was a sunday saver over night stay at wychwood Park. The course its self was in very good condition but what did make it even harder was that the second cut rough was some off the worse i have had to play from. thats if you was able to find your ball !!!! on many occasions we lost balls that had only just rolled in to second rough.. (was asked about this with other players and all said the same thing) as for the rough well we got to the stage were it just wasn't worth spending our time looking for a ball that we had ZERO chance off finding. the reports before we arrived said that the course is hard sorry it should read "IF YOU DON'T HIT FARWAY, YOU AN EXPECT TO DROP BALL.
I know i can stray a shot as can others but to punish the social golfer that much is just DISHEARTENING

An interesting course, probably more suited to lond hitters, but accuracy was required, due to the thick and plentiful rough.

Played the course several times over the last few years enjoy the testing conditions. With the weather poor this summer the course, tee boxes etc were looking a but battered and if its busy the rounds expand to 5 hours which takes the edge off a enjoyable afternoon.
