Big and bold

Very long course with challenging holes. Greens were fantastic with the pin positions in very difficult placements. Great setting well manicured but the rough is tough so stay straight.

Its Tough

This course is no walk over, I play off 17 and was more than pleased and a little lucky to come off the course 19 over. Anything off target is punished severely by the very long grasses, and on some of the holes actually reaching the fairways can be a challenge. The greens are some of the best I have played on and very true, which saved my bacon on a couple of holes. The buggies have a GPS system display but ensure that you do not go off track as the buggy stops and locks for a couple of minutes, then tells you to stay on the track when there is no sign of one. Its probably best to get instruction from one of the staff before starting off.

Excellent course, very challenging.

The quality of the course condition is always very good. Best greens in the area. This course is a real test of your golf, and always shows you how good or bad you really are. Any wayward shots will be punished without fail, you must be straight off the tee.
At £15 each using teeofftimes it is a real bargain.

Enjoyable Challenge

Played Wychwood with a colleague on a Friday and found it to be one of the most interesting and challenging courses that we have both played. Utilised a 'Group On' voucher so golf was really cheap, from previous reviews we expected a long round, pleasantly surprised to see the course sparsley populated. Situated just off J16 of the M6 it is easy to get too, with ample parking (although security on the estate was a surprise). Pro shop quite well stocked and staff friendly. Utilised the range which was of a good standard (although not covered), normally off grass but off mats today due to reseeding. Had a bacon butty and tea before commencing (?10 for two) off to the course. Greens in excellent condition, very big and very fast. The variation in holes was fantastic, true dog legs, short par 3's, long par 3's short par 4's and long par 4's. Varying degrees of hazards in play including 'bunker city' on most holes, water and trees. A very challenging course and well worth a visit, on this day we walked round in 4 hours without seeing another golfer - this was great, a word of warning green to tee is a good walk on most holes so we would recommend a buggy. We would definetly revisit.

Played mid Feb 2017 and the course was in mint condition. Absolute gem of a course where you can really test all areas of your game. Played of yellow tees of the day and still a tough challenge.a thinking course for sure with all the bunkers placed around 200-240 from tees and surrounding greens on all holes pretty much (bunker condition was superb). Course layout was excellent with some fairly long walks between tees which once you understand the layout of the course you accept and this is a cha, pion ship course for sure. Playing of 10 and finished with a score of 84 so a good first look at the course. Will definitely be returning for another round. Very helpful young chap in the shop who was more than happy to give us a course overview before we set off. Great practice facilities also from driving range to putting/chipping areas. Negatives - green pitch marks was not great (fixed at least 5 per hole) and the range balls out the machine were very muddy. Overall a great day out with a great test of golf. Top course!!!

Fantastic weather. Very long course. Lots of walking from Greens to next tee. Very quick greens and very unforgiving if not on the fairway.
Greens are protected with lots of bunkers and quite a lot of water.
