Sadly the course just doesn't quite match up to the lofty heights of the setting. As others have commented the par4s are either very short (with four being driveable in summer months for anyone of decent length) or massively long, with the others not being very memorable at all. The other main drawback is that the course is quite often tight to the surrounding roads so there is always the sound of traffic or school kids in the air.
Having said that the course in my experience is always kept in good condition, with greens that runs straight and true, and there are a few excellent holes (the tree-lined par5 being a particular standout). So for little more than you pay on some of the local municipal courses I'd say Woolton is always worth a visit.

The course in good condition given the time of year (greens decent seeing as they have been treated) i bet it is better in the summer.
Sadly though I did not realize it was so short. It felt like a glorified pitch and putt in places and not the most inspiring 1st hole to begin the round. Far to many par 4's that were well short of 350 yards. I really don't want to sound to disrespectful as I am sure the members will be happy there but its just way to boring in places. I don't know how else to describe it really but thought I would put up a honest review with more substance than "greens okay" for any potential visitors.
Info I am 28 playing off 11.
