There are two down sides to the course though. Firstly they seem to book too many people on. It is always so busy. Yesterday on one hole there were three two balls playing. We were on the tee and two other pairs were on the fairway with a fourth group only just left the green. We had to wait between 10-15 minutes on every tee.
Secondly they have people constantly sneaking on without paying. It happens every time I play there, and this adds to the overcrowding on the course, and speed of play is dramatically reduced. The time it takes to get round, I think I?d rather pay a bit more and travel a bit further. It's a shame as It's local and not too expensive.

I have always enjoyed this course and can see money is being spent on it. However , my playing partners and I thought that the fairways were in very poor condition and very surprised how long the fairway grass was. This seems strange , considering the weather , and appeared not to have been cut for some time showing by the amount of cut grass left on the fairway by the mowers on the day we played. Pease can we have the fairways mown tighter , even if we don`t get rain for a week or so ( which is unlikely) the grass will always recover. It just seems disappointing that us short hitters can`t get the benefit of a bit of extra distance in the summer. But stiil a fair course.Reviewer Rating

Really disappointing, uncut tee boxes, half the fairways uncut and played like semi rough and as for the greens they were absolutely rubbish, what a waste of time and money with people bunking on and playing as 5 and 6 balls.Reviewer Rating

Best Municipal in Liverpool.
Played today Sun 28 Jan 2023.After back 9 holes being closed due to previous snow and frost then being waterlogged it was amazing to see how dry it was.
Fairways were a bit soft but lush and no puddles.
Greens were in amazing condition.
New clubhouse has just opened offering, sandwiches, panninies, pastries, flavoured chips.
We have bought an annual golf contract for this year.
Well worth a visit.

Bowring Park Golf Course
The course needs a bit of TLC. It has changed hands several times over the past 10 years and unfortunately the course has suffered. The greens are okay but need a bit of attention, players don't fix pitch marks and this has caused them to be uneven. The bunkers have decent levels of sand and play well but no rakes make for poor lies. If players take care of the course it would improve the course no end, at ?12 a round you get what you pay for.Reviewer Rating

Great value
At this time of year the course is in good condition and offers excellent value. The problem is that no course Marshall or any staff on course, played twice and on both occasions behind a 5 ball with 1 set of clubs between them.Reviewer Rating
