Why is a great course so close to Brighton empty?
A challenge in winter but for ?11 ( via a deal) wonderful value for money. Very hilly but holes are fair, not ridiculously long.Reviewer Rating

Good condition but not very welcoming
We played Waterhall for the first time in possibly 3 years.The course was in very good condition - fairways and greens - and extremely good value at ?14 a round - surprisingly empty at that price.
Its a challenging downland course with a good variety of holes - requires a certain amount of fitness as there are some quite stiff climbs.
The club house is quite large and has good facilities but was not at all welcoming. Empty apart from the barman/club pro - coffee out of a machine in a paper cup - no food on display - no cold drinks in the fridge - just the odd golfer passing through to the gents.

It was a lovely day and the course was nice to play the only think I would say that was wrong was the food came out cold

Very good condition, in the years I have been playing this course the condition continues to improve, the guy in the clubhouse was extremely friendly and helpful

Challenging course with some good long driving holes. Greens good this summer but take plenty of spare balls if you find the rough often. Can get extra tricky when the wind gets up.

Th 9th is a challenging par 3 to say the least. Lots of hills but to be expected on the south downs
