What The Club Says
The Dyke provides a first class test of golf, measuring 6605 yards from the tournament tees, 6297 yards from the visitors' tees and 5515 yards from the ladies' tees. As with most downland courses, the degree of difficulty varies according to the strength and direction of the wind. With a stiff sea breeze blowing up from the Channel, the wide fairways often seem narrow and the strategically placed bunkers play their part.
Among the attractive points of the layout of the course is the contrast between the long hard-hitting holes on the western side of the ridge and the holes of a more adventurous type on the eastern side.

Great day at the Dyke
Our annual visit to the Dyke was fantastic as always. Looked after in advance by Brad to get the best options for our society, and looked after on the day by Herbie in the bar. Both are a credit to the club. The course was spot on and so were the facilities and the food. See you next year guys!!Reviewer Rating

Wonderful visit to The Dyke GC
Our annual Seniors group reciprocal day out was a joy. 39 of us enjoyed this great course in perfect warm May weather: sun, and a gentle breeze cooling us down. The course was in superb condition with the greens a little slow but true enough for one to have a good chance of holing a few from distance. The bacon rolls were very good and the sausage, eggs, chips and beans were cooked and served perfectly. The friendly staff worked really hard to us an exceptional day out.Reviewer Rating

Dyke - Hidden Gem
Dyke Golf Club is hands down one of the best golf courses in East Sussex, offering a combination of excellent value for money, superb course conditions, and a welcoming atmosphere. The course itself is a real treat, with challenging yet enjoyable holes that cater to golfers of all skill levels. But what really sets Dyke apart are its greens – quite possibly the best in East Sussex! Well-manicured and true to the roll, they make for an exceptional playing experience, especially when the weather is on your side. The course layout, nestled within the beautiful South Downs, offers stunning views and a peaceful setting that makes every round a memorable one. It's a perfect mix of natural beauty and technical challenges. Whether you're hitting off the tee or lining up a putt, you're surrounded by picturesque countryside and the rich history of the club, which was founded back in 1894.
When you’re done with your round, the welcoming clubhouse offers a perfect place to relax. With great food and friendly service, it's the ideal spot to unwind. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a more leisurely meal, the menu offers plenty of tasty options.
In addition to its top-notch facilities, Dyke also boasts a fantastic practice area, which makes it easy to work on your game before or after your round. All in all, this is a must-visit for golfers in the area, offering great value for an unforgettable experience.

Society Day in November.
I run a society with over 100 members and I try to provide course local and affordable, but also playable and inviting. I must admit that The Dyke fits pretty much every requirement to suit the members needs. Because it is downland the under foot condition was excellent despite poor weather the previous day. I have always enjoyed the challenging layout, with several par 5's early on, along with some difficult par 3's. The staff were friending and helpful and the breakfast we had before hand was of very good quality. It was slightly more than I would have liked to pay, but the overall day was great. I would recommend this for a society trip or just somewhere to play in the winter time.Reviewer Rating

Foresters Golf Society Meeting
We had a great day out at the Dyke Golf Club in November with 32 society members attending. The course was in fantastic condition for the time of year and a credit to the greenkeeping staff. Catering was superb with one of the best meals we have had at a society meeting. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and helpful as were the office so would highly recommend this venue for golf societies .We will definitely be coming back to the Dyke again soon.Reviewer Rating
