What the club says: Pyecombe Golf Club is situated six miles north of Brighton, set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, laid out on two rolling ridges and in the valley between. It is a good test of golf, and is extremely playable in the winter due to the chalk base providing excellent drainage.

These peaceful surroundings offer a challenging course with magnificent panoramic views of the Sussex Weald with its famous windmills Jack and Jill. Blankets of native bluebells and wild orchids, secretive badgers, shy deer, stoats and kestrels are but a few of the delights.

Pyecombe

Pyecombe Golf Club is hands down one of the best golf courses in East Sussex, offering a combination of excellent value for money, superb course conditions, and a welcoming atmosphere. The course itself is a real treat, with challenging yet enjoyable holes that cater to golfers of all skill levels. But what really sets Pyecombe apart are its greens – quite possibly the best in East Sussex! Well-manicured and true to the roll, they make for an exceptional playing experience, especially when the weather is on your side.

The course layout, nestled within the beautiful South Downs, offers stunning views and a peaceful setting that makes every round a memorable one. It's a perfect mix of natural beauty and technical challenges. Whether you're hitting off the tee or lining up a putt, you're surrounded by picturesque countryside and the rich history of the club, which was founded back in 1894.

When you’re done with your round, the welcoming clubhouse offers a perfect place to relax. With great food and friendly service, it's the ideal spot to unwind. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a more leisurely meal, the menu offers plenty of tasty options.

In addition to its top-notch facilities, Pyecombe also boasts a fantastic practice area, which makes it easy to work on your game before or after your round. All in all, this is a must-visit for golfers in the area, offering great value for an unforgettable experience.

Nice to be back

Considering not a links course but, still on the Downs, was in good drish condition. Greens were very good and fairways defined and relatively dry. Course was playing long as no run on ball. Bunkers had standing water and wet sand. Overall enjoyable and cold!!! Best thing, the price, £20 @ 13:00

This is a cracking course, easily my favourite around the Brighton area. Greens and approaches are particularly good. My brother and I went round following 3 foursomes, but rarely waited more than a couple of minutes to tee off. Stunning views all the way round and a challenge for players at all levels.
