Lovely course that we play every week. I think this is one of the best hidden gems in East Sussex. The greens are superb and the overall layout is great - lovely views form the top of the course

Great Course

Great course and really good greens.
The course drained really well after a massive downpour.
The staff are real friendly and helpful.
Fantastic views from most holes.
I liked it that much I am now a member.

Top Class

Pyecombe is one of the best in Sussex. Out in the wild on top of the South Downs the course is a wonderful magical mystery tour in perfect condition. The routing is world class, it is a real gem, built in 1894. The Clubhouse is nice, great practise area, and the friendliest people, everyone has a smile on their face (could be something in the water?) or just golf ecstasy!

Great course, fantastic greens

Great day out, first 4 holes are a bit up and down (hilly) then it evens out a touch.
The views are amazing playing on the downs, sea and country side.
Well worth a visit good course layout with some interesting holes.
This course will not disappoint.

Nice course offering excellent value for money

Have played this course several times over the last 4 years and have always been impressed by the overall condition. I do think the initial 2 holes are poor but after these, no complaints at all. Greens could have been quicker given the rainfall we have had and I do wish green keepers would learn to work backwards through holes instead of following the same match for 9 holes and slowing them down but this is a general comment not restricted to Pyecombe. Really like this course and happy to return.

Beautiful setting and several interesting holes. However there are three or four blind, uphill tee shots and a couple of severely sloping fairways where it\'s difficult to hold the ball. I guess that\'s the challenge of downland golf but makes the first visit difficult. I would recommend a prior chat with the very friendly assistant pro if you have never played it before.

Brilliant Location

Fantastic views from all parts of this course. Everything in good condition and would thoroughly recommend playing here if you are able.
First 4 holes are steep up or down and a good workout but from there on the course is one of the best in my opinion.

Always an Interesting challenge

I play at Pyecombe regularly and due the variants in the wind strength and direction I never get bored playing the course . The course is maintained by staff very well and due to being sited on the chalk land of the South Downs the ball runs equally well in winter and summer . The rough is currently cut to a playable level so any lose shots should not be too penal . The views are pretty good but be prepared for a steep climb on several of the holes !

Great Course

Course was in cracking condition considering the time of year. The greens were amazing. Competition in front of us which made for a slow 5 hour round but still enjoyable. Some great views around the south downs. Will definitely be visiting again

Great course, something different

We played it in heavy rain and we're very impressed how the course drained. Great views from every tee box and all holes looked very inviting. The hills look a bit daunting but on some holes but we all enjoyed walking round. Lovely elevated tee shots.

While local fog spread across other local courses making them unplayable 1st thing in the morning, Pycombe GC perched up on the South Downs was perfectly playable.
A warm welcome was offered in the club shop that allowed our 2-ball to get straight out on the course.
This hilly course which traverses the valleys and upper slopes of the South Downs was in great condition in spite of considerable recent rain.
A great way to spend a pre-Christmas morning, I am looking forward to playing Pycombe GC again soon.

My favourite of the courses around Brighton. Fabulous views from every hole, and great variation of holes as you go through the round. The greens in particular stand out - far more interesting than most in the area and immaculately kept.
