First time round here and I was warned it was hilly and they were not wrong! The first is a 300 yard climb with a respite on the second then the hills start again on the third which is a beautiful straight par 4 from a highly elevated tee. Looks stunning though!

Lots of interesting holes, quite forgiving in the most if you go a bit wayward with the drives.

I got on for £11 which I can't grumble about, the only negative aspect today was they were coring half the greens with 4 winter greens on. The greens that hadn't been corned were in great condition but I am no greenkeeper so I'm sure coring in August has it's merits, unfortunately as 17

Good layout, pro in the shop wasn't over friendly with green fees and got dostracted talking to someone else whilst taking my money and basically ignored me, not great customer service. Fun course, some very good holes and the greens were in great condition for December.

you need a strong heart and legs to make it through the first 5 holes at Pyecombe, but if you do and if you have scored well then you are in for a great round.
The course is by no means long or over bunkered, the natural lay out is enough of a test.
Straight will always over long here.
No problems with play in the winter as the course is set on the south end of the chalk downs.
A very good course that rewards good ball striking and shaping but penalises wayward shots.

A Hilly downland course, but doesnot feel as bad to walk as it looks, especially once you get off the 4th green. Good fairways, good greens. If you can use the course's contours to your advantage you can score well here, mind you I would say that as I had my lowest ever score here, and nearly got run out of town for scoring 46 points off 13! Could be a bit more accomodating to the general public, but the club belongs to the members so it's there choice I suppose.

Generally good downland course with a number of challenging and interesting holes. Not many easy holes for me. Last 3 holes are a real slog and a bit boring which is a bit disappointing as the rest is good.

Lots of rain but very playable

Course was closed yesterday due to rain over weeknd and Monday but on Wednesday hardly any sign of waterlogging. However evident that greens not cut and also showing that quite spongy. A lot of MAts for tees but overall still worth going to play

Nice to be back

Considering not a links course but, still on the Downs, was in good drish condition. Greens were very good and fairways defined and relatively dry. Course was playing long as no run on ball. Bunkers had standing water and wet sand. Overall enjoyable and cold!!! Best thing, the price, £20 @ 13:00

Bring your A game

Wow this course is a walk! It's everything you want from a course on the South Downs, there?s some hills, valleys, side slopes and most of all unpredictable winds. It's quite open which gives some nice confidence off the tees but choose the wrong club and say goodbye to a par.
