What the club says: The 18-hole golf course is laid out over rolling chalk downland and is a challenging par 70. Being in one of the warmest and driest parts of the country, coupled with the chalk terrain, the course is always playable. The superb modern clubhouse caters for receptions, private functions and business seminars. The first class restaurant and bar both have panoramic views over the course. The Club has its own 18-bay driving range, the only one in Brighton, which is open to the public. Tuition from PGA qualified staff is available for individuals or groups every day.

Drains well so very playable
On the South Downs and cheap after 14:00. Been 9 years since I played here. Not much has chnaged except the Slope rating is 114!! Surely with the slopes and target fairways that is too low. After the rains it spongy underfoot but not enough not to have the mowers out cutting the fairways. Greens very quick for this time of year. A bit bumpy as well.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course
This is a well set up course which is very tight. There is no need to use a driver on this course. Lots of dog legs and interesting holes to playReviewer Rating

Terrible pace of play
Played this course a few times over the last year and every time the pace of play has been painful, whether it's members not allowing you to play through it junior tournaments they don't tell you about at time of booking, id avoid this course unless you have 5+ hours.Shame because the course itself is decent, good layout and well maintained, just shoddily run

Tricky and Quirky
Overall the West Hove course is in good apart from the bunkers which have not been raked in a long time. Possible COVID is the excuse for this, but other course now seem to have good bunkers and rakes? Lots of slopes and blind shots, greens good but not as good as some in the area.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 15.2)
