What the club says: What a spectacular golf course! The condition really is unrivalled locally and the view are nothing short of stunning. The winds can make the course testing of the very best amongst us but overall the course is a classic mix, designed it seems with golfers of all abilities in mind.
As a chalk downland golf course we are playable all year round.
Play here - you really won't regret it!

A very friendly and courteous club. As visitors we were made very welcome. The course is challenging but very good. Greens in good condition. Only minor criticism there are no signs to next tee or maps to show layout.

The wind plays its part

As always, East Brighton in great condition. The rain just disappears but the wind just confuses things. An on shore this time and feels like it comes across most holes. Always fun to play here as you necver know what to expect from the wind. Greens softish but run fast. Bunkers hard as they are the only part of the course that gives away that it has rained frequently recently.

As always, a great test on a great track

Apart from the 2nd being "dug up" there were a few other improvements being made. Mainly, new tees. However with the "breeze" from the North West giving the windchill of -1C it was a great test. No sign of the rain but the frost was evident. Greens were "soft" enough to make pitch marks but ran true. Bunkers were heavy but not unplayable. Overall well worth the wait for the first round of 2024.

Interesting course

Friendly welcome. Decent course in very good condition apart from the greens which were hollow tined. Always annoys me when clubs don’t put this on the website when booking a few days in advance. Plenty of interesting holes on Fairly wide open course which is protected by bunkers and the wind. Would play again if the greens were in their regular condition

Fresh breeze across made it tricky

An Easterly was blowing which mean t a number of hole on the front 9 were up against it of moving from right to left. Coming in behind and left to right. Course in very good condition. Greens may be a touch slow but very true. Sand in bunkers made a pleasant surprise. Weather conditions always make this course challenging as you don't know what you are going to get until you tee off.

After the rains - Soft but very playable

This is a proper links course. Dries really quickly and is very different in play depending on the wind. Quite an easy course if no wind!! Greens are always very consistent and well maintained. Lovely views over Brighton the South downs and the sea. Got around in 2h 45 mins as no one had teed off for an hour in front of me. Didn't catch that group up either. Must make it clear that course is best played with a wind as this makes it more "interesting"

Always an interesting course due to wind factor

The course, as always, well maintained and there is evidence of new tees being created to tidy up the course. Greens were cut short and quick and very true. Makes for interesting putting especially when the wind blows. I was fortunate to be playing with a cross wind. Always a pleasure to play here and always a challenge.

Amazing drainage

Given the recent deluges we've had this course was very dry, no standing water anywhere (outside of water hazards). The club was very friendly, the course in excellent condition, although the greens were a little slow for my liking.
With the wind off the sea we had as this course's main defence along with rough that gives you a rightly penalising lie this course is a good challenge. One I look forward to again in the future, I'll definitely be returning!

I can see why this could be tricky with any wind

A perfectly still day meant there was no course protection and as rough cut back, just keep it relatively straight and the score will be good as it was for me today. Just needed a bit of course management to have been even better. Love the layout and the views, though those were a bit misty today but, thankfully, no rain.

Much better after a bit of rain

Course is looking lush and ball is not running away from you. Greens a little on the slow side but very true. Fairways have a few drier bits but you will be unlucky to find them. On the whole in very good nick. Club house and chaging rooms going through a bit of a refurb at the moment.

My new favourite

East Brighton is an immaculate challenging course with unbelievable views across the entirety of Brighton and more. The greens are in excellent condition and made to challenge even the lower handicappers. The rough makes it difficult to play out of but I didn't lose a single ball. The staff were excellent and very accommodating to the society I was playing with...
