Enjoyed playing this course. Tricky holes but pitch the ball in the right place and the course helps the ball to go in the right direction. Windy!!

I love this place. The course is sensational - no temp greens and no mats, in December this is a gem. The views are stunning and the mix of holes just add enjoyment to the day. Someone said it isn't for the beginner but I disagree this place suits all abilities. Go and play East Brighton, well worth the money and the 80 mile trip for me! (Oh yeah, check out the Oak Room - gorgeous and traditional, a trip down memory lane to see Field Marshall The Earl Haig's name on the board of past Presidents!!!)

Always good here. Lovely course to play. Course drains well. Fantastic views. People nice. Food good. What's not to like! The hills can be taxing if you use a trolley or carry your bag. But not if you use a buggy like I did. A regular annual venue for the Golf Society to which I belong.

Amazing drainage

Given the recent deluges we've had this course was very dry, no standing water anywhere (outside of water hazards). The club was very friendly, the course in excellent condition, although the greens were a little slow for my liking.
With the wind off the sea we had as this course's main defence along with rough that gives you a rightly penalising lie this course is a good challenge. One I look forward to again in the future, I'll definitely be returning!

I can see why this could be tricky with any wind

A perfectly still day meant there was no course protection and as rough cut back, just keep it relatively straight and the score will be good as it was for me today. Just needed a bit of course management to have been even better. Love the layout and the views, though those were a bit misty today but, thankfully, no rain.

My new favourite

East Brighton is an immaculate challenging course with unbelievable views across the entirety of Brighton and more. The greens are in excellent condition and made to challenge even the lower handicappers. The rough makes it difficult to play out of but I didn't lose a single ball. The staff were excellent and very accommodating to the society I was playing with...

Always a pleasure to play - wind makes it tricky

Being on the South Downs means that the wind and Chalk surface keeps this course playable all through the winter. Given its faily open and meandered up and down a couple of valleys drainage is good and wind has a huge part in how well you score. Particularly windy thay day....very tricky. Greens in good nick and fairways as well.

Played this course as part of a golf weekend along with Seaford Head.
Club house a bit dated but pleasant enough, the course itself was really good, tee off right in front of the proshop/clubhouse up a hill and you don't really know what to expect, then the course opens up to all different kinds of holes from downhill tee shots to uphill tee shots, the 10th is a stunning par 3, after you have refreshed at the halfway house. we did get approached by the usual busybody member as one of our group had half a trolley wheel on the tee box, she then duffed a chip about 2 yards (golfing gods in play) overall a really golf course with a fine finishing par 5 18th.

I loved East Brighton GC. The tees, greens and generous fairways were in great condition, and there are a lot of very pretty holes to be played. The stretch of holes from the 5th to the 8th (9th) was particularly picturesque.

It's not an easy walking course and there will be a fair few climbs up and down, but it is worth it. Highly recommended.
