Poor greens and even poorer tee boxes
Shame as it is evident the amount of work going on but the heavy rain and slow growth during this period of the year told on the greens and especially the tees. Uneven and muddy.(Round played: Dec 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 16.1)

The main bone of contention is the fact that if you're slightly off the fairway and in the trees a yard or two your ball is history, you would expect to have a chance to find your ball, no chance, there is so much chopped down dead wood laying around that you cant even walk in to look without nearly breaking your ankle, this is not autumn leaf fall, this is really heavy logs and branches, I would say out of the 18 holes 14 or 15 are affected, I used to love playing tilgate when I lived up there 15 years ago, not now, such a shame, even the Par 3 course is rubbish now no decent mats and too many over hanging trees to get your ball in the air for a shot at the green....... sad...
Super club house though and cracking driving range, but sort your toilets out they stink of old wee

This course was really a disappointment. It was very run down with a lot of fallen trees, branches littering the course. The greens were disease ridden and very bumpy.

Several Tees appear to have less grass on them than the overflow car park has growing in it.
Even when you do find a sign indicating where the next Tee is you arrive there to find no map to indicate hole length or direction/bunker placement.
On several greens they appear to have a form of crazy golf in that you will find one hole with the flag in it and another hole (presumably previous flag position) that is just left open, most courses feel its a good idea to fill these in.
Also the attitude of course Marshalls leaves something to be desired.
It would also appear that sand is in very short supply as the bunkers mostly appear to have a light dusting of sand mixed with gravel, this though would appear to be a plus point as the bunker rakes are in even shorter supply.
On the basis of the main draw being the course to play on rather than the extended facilities its a shame the course doesn't appear to have received as much attention as the other facilities.
