Interesting fairway rolls
Tapton was in good condition with fairways parched, unfortunately a lot of the fairways slope left to right or vice versa so your balls are constantly in 1st cut of rough. A few of the greens looked to have holes in them possibly caused by the heat, apart from these discrepancies everything else was fineReviewer Rating

Return visit for sure!
I've not played this course for many years, yesterday's round was a revelation. A good number of short par 4's lull you into a false sense of security, they are subtly tricky. Overall a good challenge, on a course that is in very good condition. The greens are small with quite subtle borrows, true rolling surface but really slow even though we were following a green keeper who was mowing them. Enjoyed our game so much that we've booked to play again next week when I hope to play with a bit more freedom now that I've figured out the lines off the tee.Reviewer Rating

Consistently good course

Testing course under the conditions
Not played here for over 3 years, ground very soggy underneath, course knowledge is very underestimated especially this course, so many leaves on the greens, some are quite poor, the lads i played with were as helpful as they could be as they play it all the time, I had a few good putts, 1,9,10,11,16 and 17 but a triple bogey at the par 3 8th killed me plus a couple of double bogeys, I did enjoy it though, hilly but good exercise, very expensive on the range, £1.50 for a token which gives you about 20 balls, won't be doing that no more, will play again but probably in a few more years.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 89 Handicap: 14.5)

Great to be Back
Have not played my home club in 26 years since joining the Forces. I went back to have a game with my Dad and Son and did not quite know what to expect. I play off 10 and been privileged to play on some of the best courses in my time in the Army. To say I was pleasantly surprised was an understatement. The clubhouse set up has changed a lot but still very friendly with great service throughout.The course was immaculate, lush fairways, a good 1st cut of rough and the greens were very receptive to approach shots, but still cut very well and ran true and faster than I originally anticipated. To play the long 5th and the 'Horseshoe' 15th again was something I had waited a long time for and was not disappointed. I will definitely look at joining when I settle back in the area.
