Although we’ve had lots of rain the course has held up really well, greens were a little difficult after the work that’s been carried out on them but still very good taking the weather into consideration

This is a great course that is well-maintained. It offers two different courses that will challenge your skills. The facilities are also great, with a clubhouse, shop, and accommodation.

Interesting and varied

Twisty turning course with bumps, hollows and nice greens. Good pace of play on a Sunday

Stayed one night at the hotel. Accommodation and food were excellent. Played the Constable and Gainsorough courses for the first time. Both were well-maintained and the greens were excellent. Some of the bunkers proved difficult to get out of and were in need of attention. Impressed by the greenkeepers who courteously stopped working whilst we played our shots. This is an ideal venue for golf societies.

Great layout. Another great society weekend to play both courses. Bar a bit pricey but that seems the norm in hotel based course. Was a bit boggy in parts - but hey there had been lots of rain during the week beforehand.

Great place !!

Great place to stay and two great courses.
Constable course long and undulating and Gainsborough the same
but not as hard. Greens good but a bit on the slow side.
Hotel good and superb food. Bar staff in sports bar a bit cheeky and rude.

The course was in very good condition. Short but very interesting and tight. Good for all standard of golfers. Bunkers well tended.

Good course

Good round in the sun. Course in great condition (although bunkers were a bit solid). Hilly - recommend a buggy.

Pace of play

Recently spent two days at the resort. Hotel facilities food etc very good. Unfortunately the pace of play on the two courses was not good. It took almost 5 hours to complete the first round a nd close on 5.5 hours to complete the next round. Such a shame that there is no control on the golf courses regarding pace of play.

Constable and Gainsborough Courses

Both courses overall in lovely condition. I found the first couple of fairways on the Gainsborough course would benefit from some additional drainage as found a bit 'muddy?. There were a couple of tees that had very limited grass! Overall, some fantastic holes, wonderful greens and great hospitality in the club house. Would definitely like to play both courses again.

Gainsbough Stoke by Nayland

Played this course as part of an overnight stay package, we arrived and had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, the course is good but needed a bit of a tidy up, the greens had been holotined and sanded and this was to be expected as this was the end of winter. The course layout is good the evening meal was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and professional.
