1. Golf shop was very cold feeling, I mean not welcoming at all. Very industrial feel to it and it was asking you to leave as soon as you walked in. Not much on offer regarding clothing etc and I’m one of those golfers who buy t shirts at every course I play.
2. Played holes 1-6 then when you come off the 6th green where the hell do you go !!! No signage at all and wasted time walking all the way round to 7th tee...
3. I’ve read the other comments and see the course layout has been changed. and the last few holes I think could be better. I’d rather walk with clubs down a hill than up. The current 15th should be your 17th then your right at the 18th. Finish 14th then walk down to current 17th and make that the 15th.

Great course
Probably the best municipal course in the northwest of EnglandIt has got a lot of character with interesting holes, it's a mature course.
There is a club house run by Sherdley park golf club which serves food & drink which is very good and value for money.
The thing that lets it down is the people that are running it... mainly the manager of the course ( he is very arrogant and rulesy)... the course being neglected with fairways not being mowed and bunkers neglected.
Society golfers are having problems booking tees which is stupid as it's money down the drain.
There are minimum amount of buggies available but a bit expensive compared to other golf courses in the area.
It's a shame as his type of management is losing the council ?????????? and customers
The council are actually taking bids from candidates to run the course... the sooner someone takes over the better as it could be a gem of a place with the right management
