Could be so much better.
Course is way over priced for what they offer at the moment. Been reduced holes for so long and now back to 18 the ‘new holes’ are way off. There is no marshalling so people can just wander on whenever they want and play which makes the booking of t times a joke. More often than not there are at least two/three groups waiting to t off on each hole. This even happens on comp days. Owners said they would sort this but never did. T boxes are shocking and none are square. The greens are generally in good condition but the bunkers and fairways are not good. Worringly the new holes are the worse. A couple of the new fairways on the back are like playing off aggregate and are just full of stones. Parking is a nightmare and if you can manage to get in the clubhouse the drinks are overpriced and poor. If you are unfortunate enough to play there then don’t try to complain as the club shop workers just shrug and say ‘that’s golf’ and no one ever responds to emails. Such a shame as it could be a great course.Reviewer Rating

Annoying green keepers.
This course has recently been redesigned and is a challenge on the back 9. The challenge is made much much harder by ignorant green keepers that insist on mowing every fairway and tee box whilst your trying to take your shot. Now I know they have a job to do but surely customers teeing off at 9.30 should be miles behind them doing their daily job? Not here. Totally ruined the experience and club shop staff were not interested. This was my second and last visit to this course as the first time a green keeper chopped my ball into pieces. With his mower. Much better courses in the area for the £25 green fee.Reviewer Rating

Shocking
Course is in a disgraceful condition and more like a farmers field then a golf course. Constantly going on about how good it will be when it finally opens back to a 18 hole course but they should concentrate on the holes that are available now. Lovely club house but it is ran as a public bar and Resteraunt so can’t really call it a club house. Don’t waste your money or time.Reviewer Rating

Feels Unkempt and a bit neglected
A bit of a Disjointed layout, generally poor condition not playing off tees, greens were poor, lots or roped off areas generally scruffy and looked unkempt, only ?18 but not worth that , never really saw anyone ( including any greenkeepers ) , only giving a middle score for facilities as we didn't use any practice facilities or club facilities. No food and drink as it was closed.Reviewer Rating

Buggy Hire
Buggy that I paid £30 to use was not working fully, it was stop, start all the way around the first 12 holes and struggled to get up the smallest incline! They did say in the Pro Shop when I booked it, that they were having trouble with them charging up! I had a sprained ankle, so needed the buggy! Unfortunately it caused me more trouble than it was worth with my injury! Other friends who I was playing with suggested I change it as we went past the Pro Shop to play the final holes? I did this, explaining the problem to the Pro, which he acknowledged and gave me another one, which was no better! I asked my friends to try it incase it was my fault, they both agreed it was faulty! They said the Shop should reimburse me for the stress, trouble I’d endured! I mentioned this and despite the Pro admitting they did had problems with the buggies, they couldnt do anything about it! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Such a big pity as we enjoyed playing the course!Reviewer Rating

Nice friendly welcome on arrival, starter on first tee but was too busy taking to his ?friends? didn't even acknowledge we were there or teeing off. Course was busy, slow pace of play, really boggy in places, green were below average for the price you pay to play course, fairway was in good condition. Temporary tee boxes were not up to standard. Tee would learn either towards you or away from you, made the tee shots more difficult than needed. Should be reduced rate to play whilst course is in such a condition in my opinionReviewer Rating

January Visit
A cold and sunny day seemed ideal for a round of golf but unfortunately the recent weather has taken its toll on the course and in my opinion it should not have been open. Most of the holes were very boggy and made for extremely difficult conditions. A few holes on the back nine were OK due to improved drainage but the rest was poor. In better condition it is a nice courseReviewer Rating

The course itself the back new holes are not ready the quality of soil they have used for the seed to take is horrendous full of aggregate this should of been topped of with clean top soil and seeded or turfed, instead they have been so far behind it looks like its been rushed its like hitting a ball off a quarry works
such a shame waisted over 2 years here playing temp holes for nothing looks like i will be cancelling subscription

So so Sherdley
Course has recently been purchased by Green circle estates who now own Kirkby Valley and Allerton Manor.Major refurbishment/extension of existing clubhouse is underway (5-6 months work). Don't know whether they're gonna save those greens though. They were awful, but it's what they've inherited.Major rubbish/waste/debris clean up required. Will go back in a couple of years and see how they've done.Giod luck to them.Course was empty on a Tuesday evening.£550 for a 7 day ticket.Reviewer Rating
