Golf Course Reviews for Berrington Hall Golf Club
Very strange course or is it unique design. The greens were really poor and extremely difficult to putt on!!! Too many ridges and bumps to put through. Some of the fairways need some tlc too!! It wasn?t enjoyable for us but maybe everyone should judge for themselves.
Played Berrington on Saturday 7th of July in a four ball. Course was in reasonable condition and it has improved over the past 2 years I've played there. Rough used to be a bit too penal (well past ankle height) but it's cut properly now, you still lose balls but it's not like is was when 1 yard off the fairway meant a guaranteed lost ball. Facilities are fine but no range on site (there is one a couple of minutes down the road though)
What I wasn't prepared for was a rude member telling our group not to play off the white tees when we used the yellow tees all the way round. Maybe it was a case of mistaken identity but the fact that he had his shirt hanging out wasn't lost on our group! Very poor etiquette and behaviour and we did enjoy it when we saw him searching deep in the rough for his lost ball minutes later - instant karma!
A relatively decent challenge, even off the yellows, but one of our group of mid-handicappers still scored a gross 78 so scoring is possible
I feel that the first 10 holes are very good with lots of variation before the course becomes quite mundane, there is a lovely par 3 (the 17th) coming home but the majority of the homeward holes compare unfavourably to those that came before
Overall I'd say worth a try but if you struggle for distance try the blue tees

Having played here four times this season i can say the course is in fine condition the greens have some treatment work done and are on the way to being very good. Course is longer than most but very playable even for older golfers practice facility needs a little TLC but all in all one for the future. give it a try very Underrated IMO.
If you want a true test of golf then this is it. Visually great course of the high tees and every hole Enjoyable. Course is very much improving under the new ownership and the work that's ongoing. A must play course at a very reasonable price and very good membership rates. Give it a try.
Played here a few times. Clearly still doing work as the greens were sanded but it's good to see the on going efforts to continue to improve the course. Keep up the good work!

Played 7th April in awful rain and cold, I was very impressed with the course and how it stood up to the weather compared to other courses around that closed that morning, we will be back and hopefully be blessed with better weather
Played it today after what's been a heavy week for rain and i was well impressed with the dry fairways , clear signage was appreciated also. Played it about 6 months ago and its definitely improved a lot, the surrounding woods have had a lot of work done to them and it shaping up to be a fantastic course. No boring holes, each one poses its own challenge with quite a few water hazards to watch out for. Friendly staff and good value for money. Ill be back.

This course is getting better and better each week, each month, each year!. Without doubt one of the toughest tests in the North West. Come to Berrington with an open mind and make up your own mind.....Remember this true test is still very much in its infancy, 7 yrs old in May. With approx. 7000 yards to challenge every part of your game. Fairways and greens have improved massively, still alot of work to do especially on the tees, but work in progress. The greens staff have done an amazing job, especially over the winter and kept us on full greens throughout. Also an equally fantastic job done by the Artisans of tidying up the course, and clearing all the trees and bushes. Looks A lot better visually and aesthetically. A warm welcome will await your arrival, good food choice and excellent friendly staff. And all for under 20 quid! Tremondous value for money. 5*.

Just to start, I love berrington Hall, quality course with challenging holes. Unfortunately ( as sort of expected) there were a lot of temp greens and temp tee boxes. tees was fine but the temp greens just took the fun away from this course, will certainly ring ahead in future to ensure they have the full greens available.
Great course. Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome. The course give you a challenge. The greens are superb considering its winter. Now looking at joining.
We worth a visit really good condition after the bad weather, will def go back.

A true test for an amateur golfer. I'm new to the game and this was the hardest course I've come across. However, very friendly and helpful staff and a well maintained course.
