Go in Summer

In two minds with this review. I would say if you are not someone who plays all year and wants a knock in the summer give it a go. It’s good value for money. If you are looking for a winter venue or want to play all year round I would say cross this one off your list. It is a course that will be on temporary greens when all others are on a full course. I have played it in beautiful winter sunshine, with no mud and shirt sleeves and it has been on 17/18 winter greens. Better options in the area for all year golf which is a shame.

Quite amazed by the last remarks as we played on the Saturday 14th in a corporate 02 communications shot gun start golf day with 80 golfers and all praised the condition of the course and had a great golf day out finishing off in their Marquee for a three course meal .Suggest you play the course and decide yourself as the last reviewer is totally out of order.

Played course on sunny Saturday which was a bonus and found the course very busy and played through one four ball but very much enjoyed the course. We were aware that some of the greens are now recovering from the last time we played only two weeks ago so next time all should be fine.its a challenging course which keeps us coming back.

Played the course at the weekend for the first time as our golf society tends to book courses we have not played before but we all agreed to come back again as we all enjoyed the challenge of a testing but fair course layout.

Last played this course about two years ago and thought I'd give it another go as I liked the layout but not the condition. So glad I came back with two mates and what a difference the course is now ! ! Everything's maturing from trees to greens and fairways quite amazing in such a short time.iIf you were like me go back and see for yourself as we've rebooked for next week.

Decent and is improving all the time

Played Berrington on Saturday 7th of July in a four ball. Course was in reasonable condition and it has improved over the past 2 years I've played there. Rough used to be a bit too penal (well past ankle height) but it's cut properly now, you still lose balls but it's not like is was when 1 yard off the fairway meant a guaranteed lost ball. Facilities are fine but no range on site (there is one a couple of minutes down the road though)

What I wasn't prepared for was a rude member telling our group not to play off the white tees when we used the yellow tees all the way round. Maybe it was a case of mistaken identity but the fact that he had his shirt hanging out wasn't lost on our group! Very poor etiquette and behaviour and we did enjoy it when we saw him searching deep in the rough for his lost ball minutes later - instant karma!

A relatively decent challenge, even off the yellows, but one of our group of mid-handicappers still scored a gross 78 so scoring is possible

I feel that the first 10 holes are very good with lots of variation before the course becomes quite mundane, there is a lovely par 3 (the 17th) coming home but the majority of the homeward holes compare unfavourably to those that came before

Overall I'd say worth a try but if you struggle for distance try the blue tees

Played the course on friday 27 dec..a very blustery and challenging day.Greens were running true and in great condition...bit of water on fairways but accetable...overall..great condition..no problems with bunkers.Think some reviewers made there mind up about this course along time ago..i for one will be playing it again.(one tiny complaint foods abit expensive2.50 for a bacon cob with only 1slice of bacon..but am told the new clubhouse opens soon and the regular caterers are going back in...very exciting.)

Played at the weekend and found the course a great challenge with mamouth greens as we had been told false reports to its condition.I suggest golfers to try this course themselves rather than listening to hear say and missing out which we nearly did.
