Go in Summer
In two minds with this review. I would say if you are not someone who plays all year and wants a knock in the summer give it a go. It’s good value for money. If you are looking for a winter venue or want to play all year round I would say cross this one off your list. It is a course that will be on temporary greens when all others are on a full course. I have played it in beautiful winter sunshine, with no mud and shirt sleeves and it has been on 17/18 winter greens. Better options in the area for all year golf which is a shame.Reviewer Rating

Decent and is improving all the time
Played Berrington on Saturday 7th of July in a four ball. Course was in reasonable condition and it has improved over the past 2 years I've played there. Rough used to be a bit too penal (well past ankle height) but it's cut properly now, you still lose balls but it's not like is was when 1 yard off the fairway meant a guaranteed lost ball. Facilities are fine but no range on site (there is one a couple of minutes down the road though)What I wasn't prepared for was a rude member telling our group not to play off the white tees when we used the yellow tees all the way round. Maybe it was a case of mistaken identity but the fact that he had his shirt hanging out wasn't lost on our group! Very poor etiquette and behaviour and we did enjoy it when we saw him searching deep in the rough for his lost ball minutes later - instant karma!
A relatively decent challenge, even off the yellows, but one of our group of mid-handicappers still scored a gross 78 so scoring is possible
I feel that the first 10 holes are very good with lots of variation before the course becomes quite mundane, there is a lovely par 3 (the 17th) coming home but the majority of the homeward holes compare unfavourably to those that came before
Overall I'd say worth a try but if you struggle for distance try the blue tees
