What The Club Says

The undulating 18-hole parkland course, opened in 1973, measures 5912 yards, par 71 & provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. It is one of the best kept pay and play parkland courses in the North West and is open daily throughout the year from light until dusk. All golfers are welcome.

Each hole has its own unique features. Generally wide fairways do not unduly punish the high handicappers, but even scratch players will do very well to finish under par. Operated by Green Circle Leisure, operators of Allerton Manor Golf Club and Sherdley Park Golf Club.

Wednesday Golf

This was the second time we’ve played Shirdley Park, both rounds have been good. Nice course to play, challenging but not too difficult particularly for a high handicapper like myself. Nice set up, golf shop friendly helpful staff. The greens were good considering the extreme hot weather we’ve had. Good value for money for the quality of the course, also never any problem booking a tee time. Will definitely play here again in the next few weeks.

The course was in great condition, it would have been nice to see people out in carts though asking play to speed up. I’m all for people taking there time but there was a 4 ball that was slow took us until 7th hole to play through & also then a 3 ball was very slow in front of us as well. Took a 2 ball 4 hours to play. Great course in great condition

Course was good, only downfall was our buggy ran out of battery after the 12th hole, so we didn’t use it for the remaining holes, disappointing when you’ve paid for a buggy

Played the course on Tuesday 21/04/26, cost £35. The course has been changed around to how it used to be 1st tee nearest the club house, I personally preferred the old set out 1st tee starting up the hill. Greens had some type of disease that was being treated so not best ever. Definitely not worth the £35.

Great challenge

I was warmly met by the guy in the golf shop after I had booked my tee time on the club app. I managed to tee off earlier than expected. Having not played the course for the best part of 20 years I was concerned I would get lost finding my way between the two halves of the course, but the course turned out to be well signposted.
Greens were of a good standard, tees were winter. The fairways were a little boggy in places but it had rained heavily the night before.
A short parkland course which allows for good scoring making it extremely good to play.
After my round there is a lovely restaurant to sit eat and drink after your round.
The course will be in even better condition when it dries out more.

I nice course gone to ruin

Played here on 7th April and I was really disappointed with the condition of the course, especially considering it’s £35/£40 per round. All holes were still on winter tee boxes which were in overall poor condition, 3rd hole was still on a winter green and almost every fairway was unkept and looked like they had yet to be mowed this year so even when you do find the fairway it’s like playing out of the rough. And if your ball does find the real rough good luck finding it! The rough is that deep and unkept I now feel like I know what the pros felt like at the last US Open.
I’ve played this course on and off since I was in my teens and I’m now in my 40’s, in the last 2 years has definitely seen the course conditions go down hill which is a real shame. I very much doubt I’ll play here again anytime soon unless someone puts some serious time and money into it. In its current condition I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you can get it for free and even then I’d think twice. Absolutely not worth the £35 I payed when there are other higher quality courses within a 15-20min drive with green fees at a similar price.

Disgraceful

Payed £30 each for a round of golf with 6 of my friends.
We were so looking forward to it after hearing so much about the improvements made but what a disappointment it was.
Not one fairway had been cut or worked on the bunkers where neglected the greens were stringy & unkept.
The overall condition of the course looked abandoned.
We won’t go back.
Would not recommend.
A waste of time & money

The course was nice and has changed a little bit. But kids on buggys smoking weed and uneducated players let it down. After playing it would of been nice to sit and have a drink and a chat but the club house is a restaurant with none playing guests in there and we had nowhere to sit and relax after the game.
