What the club says: Mersey Valley Golf & Country Club is a par 72 18-hole course designed and constructed by St Mellion Leisure the development arm of St Mellion International, the home of the first Jack Niclaus Course in Europe and hosts to the Benson & Hedges International Open Golf Tournament. Gently undulating with no hills or gradients and therefore attractive to golfers of all ages and abilities, sensitively designed to be environmentally attractive with thousands trees planted and wildlife habitats created. The greens are generally large and provided a quality-putting surface. Fairways are wide and generous. All the tees are elevated including the forward tees but the greatest feature is the superb drainage and at 6,300 yards still provides a testing round of golf.
Most Helpful Review
Yes, the course was a little wet, but that is to be expected after three weeks of terrible rain. Considering the recent weather it was in good condition and is a fairly interesting course with a variety of holes. The greens ran true despite being spiked and there were two temporary greens (5th and 14th I think) but, like I say, you really can't complain about that after the weather over the last few weeks. You can tell when walking round that a lot of work has been undertaken recently and there is still some work taking place and I imagine when it has been completed it'll be good little course. A lot of land has been shifted to make a number of the holes hidden from the rest and gives you the feel of isolation from the rest of the course. Worth a visit, i'll definitely be back when it is drier later on this year. - Mar 12 2017

Place is to bogged if it has been raining for get it go some where else.
Played here today for the first time in fifteen years. It is quite different visually with the trees maturing and a lot of mounds improving the aesthetics of the place. The staff were great from the friendly chap taking phone bookings to the lovely lady that takes the green fees.
The course itself and aspects of play I was less impressed with. Other than the second the holes aren't especially memorable. The group in front was a little slow being a four ball of old timers but nothing unreasonable. The group behind were much worse in that they were rushing up behind constantly, making sure we knew they were waiting by standing to the side of the tee box in your eyeline even though no one was behind them. Made for a less enjoyable experience.
See you in 15 years Mersey Valley!
