Sherdley park

Excellent place to spend ya afternoon playing golf , nice short par fours , challenging up an down the hills , perfect greens perfect tee box’s and perfect fairways , loved it.

Easy to book via Intelligentgolf, as ever. Course very dry but in excellent condition far better than most (not too distant) municipals. Course has plenty of variety with several signature holes and is challenging at all levels, up there with many private courses.\Atmosphere in clubhouse and restaurant areas very welcoming/friendly. I last played here on Royal Wedding Day(Charles&Di). I\'ll be back and won\'t leave it long next time.

Great course

Got told they've spent money on the course prices gone up to play and the only work they've done on the course is put new signs up and changed the order of the holes greens are not as good as usual at the minute. Also last couple of times we have played (Friday tee off at 4-15 pm) round about 7-15pm some one who works at the course drives round on the buggy telling you that you have to be off the cousre at 7-45pm because he?s locking the gates even though you have quite a few holes to play luckily we've not taken any notice of this and the gates been open when we've finished all be it with a disgruntled man waiting at the gates to lock it behind us....you pay your money you play your game

A tale of two halves

Sherdley Park is a great municipal with two very different nines. The course is actually laid out as a ten hole stretch, then 11 and 12 are a bit of a walk back past the first tee with the last six holes over the road past the clubhouse.

The front 9 is very tricky as the par 37 suggests. The back 9 is very short but still full of interesting holes. It does get frequented by people that only play once a year. The four ball in front of us all sliced 50 yards into the trees but never once looked back to consider letting us play through even with a large gap in front. We ended up starting on 11 instead. They were in the rough on the tenth when we saw them again three hours later.

All in all a cracking course but allow 5-6 hours on a sunny Saturday.
