Very challenging

Some very challenging holes
A little boggy around the tee boxes but expected this time of year
This course feels very large split into two.
Nice set up

Winter mats awful to play off

Been and played sherdley park for the 1st time in a while, we played off the winter mats which some weren't level and had no slits on opposite side off mat for a lefthander, most of the course was roped off around the greens and the course was boggy in places which all is understandable at this time of year, have to say greens where pretty good for this time of year though. My overall thought was its still pricey for winter condition golf but it wouldn't stop me playing the again because the course is a good challenge with a good variety of easy and hard holes

Lovely course

Lovely course and a lovely round of golf.
It was on winter tees so it played a bit shorter. Only think was the bunkers where full of leaves.

Promising but still a little disappointing

First time I’ve played Sherdley Park since they redeveloped the back 9.
Pro’s. You can see they have got a grip of the drainage issues. Playing early February was surprised how dry it was.
Greens were excellent for the time of year.
Fairways were ok and had held up well.
The new holes are challenging and interesting.

Cons. The litter. Please employ someone to litter pick the edges of the fairways and bushes. It looks awful.
The scorecard doesn’t have a map so the route of the new holes is quite confusing.
The 16th fairway is awful. What is the deal with the pea gravel? Every divot you see is full of gravel. I hit a wedge into the green and it scratched the bottom of the wedge really badly. Not great if you have just spent £££ on new bats.
More pathways. Please install a few more paths with some decent surfacing between some of the holes. Some of the paths you have are incredibly uneven and muddy.
I love the clubhouse, it’s stunning but your pro shop is like a cave. Awful.
Conclusion. Much promise, will play it again in summer when it’s dry and manicured but £25 for a midweek winter green fee is not great value.

Spotted Sherdley when I visited for a christening a few weeks back, great course. Interesting holes with little room for error. Loved it, will be visiting again.

Difficult to rate this course at present , especially with the new (to me) holes
But I will say the whole course played well , greens in good condition for the time of year
The new holes , well what can I say ! They have changed this course forever , they were awesome , fairways pristine, greens exceptional even in January, can’t wait to play it again

Enjoyed getting out for a round but the course should of been closed. Doing more harm than good in those conditions. Would recommend but only when bone dry.

Ground was very wet; teed off mats fairways muddy & not pleasant to play. Around greens cordoned off. Think I would have preferred course to make decision to close the course .

Course changes and improvements make this a very good course. Fairways and greens in excellent condition for this time of year but the bunkers are in need of some attention. Tee to green the course is well set out and is a good challenge for all levels of golfer.

Overall good

First time player on Sherdley. Expected it to be very soft under foot but to be fair 90% was was reasonably firm and still game some run on. The walk up to the 1st tee box is a bit of a climb as is one ther hole to the green but over an enjoyable round. Some of the bunkers need attention but fluffy sand isn't an option at this time of year. The greens however are in excellent condition and still reasonably fast. I will definitely play the course again.

Greens were in good condition, holes 14,15,16,17 generally in good condition parts of the fairway bit bare need more time to grass grow, but all bunkers were terrible all round the course need raking bits of grass growing in some.

Overall a lovely course in really good condition. Needs practise facilities though. There is one practice net which has the worst mat I have ever seen and no practice green. Would definitely play there again though.
