Always an Interesting challenge

I play at Pyecombe regularly and due the variants in the wind strength and direction I never get bored playing the course . The course is maintained by staff very well and due to being sited on the chalk land of the South Downs the ball runs equally well in winter and summer . The rough is currently cut to a playable level so any lose shots should not be too penal . The views are pretty good but be prepared for a steep climb on several of the holes !

Great course, something different

We played it in heavy rain and we're very impressed how the course drained. Great views from every tee box and all holes looked very inviting. The hills look a bit daunting but on some holes but we all enjoyed walking round. Lovely elevated tee shots.

While local fog spread across other local courses making them unplayable 1st thing in the morning, Pycombe GC perched up on the South Downs was perfectly playable.
A warm welcome was offered in the club shop that allowed our 2-ball to get straight out on the course.
This hilly course which traverses the valleys and upper slopes of the South Downs was in great condition in spite of considerable recent rain.
A great way to spend a pre-Christmas morning, I am looking forward to playing Pycombe GC again soon.

Hadnt played here for 7 years. Course was in excellent condition. Great fairways greens (which were very fast). Slightly let down by the clueless girl in the bar afterwards who made buying 4 drinks very difficult.

This a very tough course. It's on the downs, so not only do you get a great course to play, you get terrific scenery, and a really good workout. Not for the unfit.

Challenging course, lots of elevation changes and tough when you don't hit the greens and fairways. Friendly club, enjoyable round, very picturesque with great views particularly on back 9.

Pyecombe is a course just north of Brighton, and it's one that's well worth taking a trip to. The course is certainly hilly in places, but make the effort and the views of the holes and the surrounding hills will make it worth your while. You'll also get to see Jack and Jill close up, two windmills along the South Downs Way.

My favourite looking holes are probably the 3rd or the 9th, but there's lots to like about the others too.

The fairways are pretty wide and inviting, but you'll seldom be granted an even lie off the fairways. The greens will, I'm sure, but far better than they were today, but this is not the time of year to be judging them.

The clubhouse was very cozy, and everyone there seemed pleasant enough. Pyecombe gets a big thumbs up from me, and I'm looking to back again soon.

I love this course. Pretty move every hole is up or down, often not on a even lie - you need to think about your club selection. Having said that it is fairly forgiving on most of the course if you stray off - but watch out for the walkers on the South Downs Way!! A couple more water hazards would really make it. You need to be fit to play this course.

Very nice track. On the South Downs so you need to be in the mood for a walk or get a buggy. Even though it was raining in the week it was very dry under foot
