Both me and my playing partner were left amazed at the poor condition of this course. Prior to the round the pro said that the course was \\\\\\\"a good track, in decent condition with some work needed\\\\\\\". Taking the following into consideration it is safe to say this is not at all accurate. In fact, we described the enjoyment of this course on par with \\\\\\\'a paper cut\\\\\\\'. \\\\\\\\Fairways: It was bizarre how little grass was on the fairway, it was bare and resembled something from the recent Attenborough Africa documentary.\\\\\\\\Bunkers: Given how close this course is to the sea it was also shocking to experience the bunkers, which I am almost certain consisted of \\\\\\\'ready break\\\\\\\' porridge oats. \\\\\\\\Greens: Regarding the greens, the positive to take is that they were green. Perhaps someone has misinterpreted the concept, as they were very green and it was easier to use a lob wedge than a putter to hit the hole. I recall my ball almost stopping on a weed as it approached the hole on the first green. We ended up not putting and just adding 2 shots onto our card, given these greens were the worst I have witnessed in 10 years of golf. \\\\\\\\Tee Box: these were actually in good condition, certainly relative to the other elements of the course. Having said that, the ball cleaners contained no water so utterly pointless. \\\\\\\\General: There were a couple of other funny moments, derived from people just walking on the course. On hole 8, a dog approached my playing partner and (unbeknown to him) was sniffing his ankle as he aimed to hit his ping G25 driver towards the hole. Another moment was when a man walked out of a bush wearing a hoodie, trousers and slippers (temperature around 21 C), which holted our play. \\\\\\\\Positives from the round were:\\\\1) leaving, \\\\2) the weather and \\\\3) not being bitten by the numerous dogs/random people walking the course. \\\\\\\\Would I play the course again? No, not even if it was free of charge. A very dissapointing experience and one that we were compelled to share. It has potential to be a good course with some mature parkland but major investment is needed.

A very good municipal course, located so centrally for Bournemouth. A couple of greens in not great condition but otherwise great value for money.

A delightful course of the older school variety. The Par threes are all sublime and some off the par 4 are just a pleasure. Big bangers will not like this course as there is only four or five places to blaze away.Cotton was right, the 14th is a delight.

Niggles car park is a absolute shambles and needs a rethink, dog walkers 90% were fine but two or three just could not give a hoot, really really annoying at times. Not the dogs fault.

Cons 14th, par threes, friendly staff.

ps to the irate golfer waving his arms at me telling me to get a move on, IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT people like you spoil the calm serenity off golf.

A good walk in the park but be aware of yapping dogs and local urchins nicking your balls.
No course Marshall and tees seem to be awaiting some grass. This would be worth returning to in some hot summer weather with the pines and fast fairways. The club needs a proper spike or club bar, but pro shop helpful and friendly.

A beautiful day,a lovely course, not too busy, and the staff were very friendly....many thanks to the man in the pro shop for a special favour......this is a very challenging course, you must be able to hit it straight,or you will be searching the woods...

The bargain price from teeofftimes.co.uk,and the ease of booking always makes playing at Meyrick Park a pleasure.....

David and I,played the course just after 3pm,the course was immaculate, the greens were soft, the first is always a little daunting, but i would recommend this course to anyone intermediate and above......

It is a public place so you will get a few dog walkers, and occasionally children with bikes, but even yesterday in the holidays we only saw 2......

in all the staff are always friendly, and accommodating,i play here at least once a month..

A really nice but tough pay and play coarse ,starting with a 220 yd par 3 with trees left and right. The coarse has 5par 3s but they are all quite dificult. This is a coarse which is tree lined on many holes and a long iron hitter will score well as a poor drive will end in a dropped shot. The coarse and clubhouse are hard to fault and only a driving range is missing but at £16 in midweek and around £20 at weekends this coarse rates highly against the ones we would normally play in the Essex and Kent areas. The lodge rooms are clean and comfy and i would recommend a weekend stay at this coarse which also comes with a pool and gym and only a stonesthrow from the town centre.

Meryrick Park is a lovely course nestled in the woodland in the center of sunny Bournemouth. I would only ever play this course though if you can get a deal on the green fees. They are trying to pull a fast one if your expected to play £30+ on a Saturday. When you do get a round in for less than £20 its a great course to play.

I play off 26 and on a good day score quite well if the irons are hitting straight, if they are not its easy to have a nightmare! The first hole is a very long par three and sets the tone for the course. Get it right and you will enjoy the next 6 holes, start badly and you'll be crying by the ninth!

For a municiple course it plays very well during the summer months, my only quibble would be the bunkers, they need some attention. Dog walkers are a problem here, you'll see them every other hole.

The greens are good during the summer but with a couple of days worth of rain you'll tee off matts on at least six of the holes and the greens run very slow.

As this is my local course i have played it many times and continue to go back with an online deal during the week. All in all the course is very good and the last 4 holes are some of the best in dorset.

Absolutely foul course which is nothing other than a dog walkers park where the conditions are not looked after one bit, fairways are pure mud and holes all around the greens where it’s open to public and they show absolutely no care towards it - they absolutely mug you for cash where even after paying the full amount they tell you that you owe they demand even more claiming they told you in advance when there is no communication - THEN threaten to take more money for the next season when you have terminated your contract - strongly recommend to avoid

Good winter course

Green fee is far more realistic in winter as Summer fees are high.
Course was in good order and the greens had good speed and played well.
No temp tees or greens when I played
