Difficult course with many tight drives to reach fairways. Course is poorly maintained with many bare patches on the fairways. Shrubs and trees not maintained, over grown on several holes
and the club is more caring for the gym facilities than the golf course . No beer for sale in the 19th either.

Considering its located in a town centre, this a really nice course with numerous picturesque holes. Fairways are always very fast and well drained. If you are hitting straight, there will be birdie chances a plenty. Some members could do with refining their attitudes to guests and societies, who I would imagine subsidise their membership fees. Just too slow getting around at the weekend!

Course in excellent condition, in many ways better than the summer as the excellent drainage left most fairways in great shape with very few wet areas despite the recent and overnight rain. Certainly one of the driest courses in the area. Two temporary greens, (7th and 14th) on the damper holes.

Beware the dog walkers

Old Municipal course which, living locally, has become very expensive especially in the summer. I'm hoping this was due to covid but the price they ask and then you still have to contend with the dog walkers. Sorry guys but the course doesn't warrant what you are asking.

Really nice interesting variable course, with a great variety of holes and very good clean smooth greens. Quite a challenge but would definitely recommend playing there.

Despite the course being a dog walkers paradise the fairways are well kept and the greens are excellent, even the undergrowth is controlled and not too thick. This municipal course is every bit as good as any howty towty private course.

Umm!

Not my favourite course. There are a lot of footpaths going all over the course with dog walkers having priority. One or two of the holes were a bit "Micky Mouse"

Enjoyable but tight tree lined course

Really enjoyed playing here on Saturday afternoon. Fairly short but quite tight on a number of holes, with pine trees lining almost every hole making it visually attractive. Greens in good shape and fairways in good condition for the time of year and price, much greener & grassier than anywhere I've played for weeks. Par 3s a highlight, and some good par 4s through the trees. Only saw 3 other groups of golfers, so pretty much had the place to myself. A fair few dog walkers and runners but not a problem. I don't live locally (visiting the in-laws) but already looking forward to returning.

Fun in the sun

Good conditions given the extremes in recent weather. Some bother with walkers on fairways, but not too bad. As with most courses the buggies tender to be booked up for the early rounds.

A nice course to play in the winter months especially as it's very rarely closed due to the weather. Also got a great challenge of a first hole just beware of the dog walkers and joggers.

Played on a lovely summers evening, the course was in good condition if a little hard due to the lack of rain. Also very tight in places with the trees in full leaf so you need to be straight!
