Difficult course with many tight drives to reach fairways. Course is poorly maintained with many bare patches on the fairways. Shrubs and trees not maintained, over grown on several holes
and the club is more caring for the gym facilities than the golf course . No beer for sale in the 19th either.

Only play here if you have no other choice and are happy to play a 5 h

Although it was a Saturday, we had a really slow round and the course was packed with players of all standards with very little etiquette. The facilities are quite poor and the course actually plays fairly tough considering the type of players that choose to go here.

Not good

This course has over the past few years deteriorated with little or no investment in the course. The trees, bushes and shrubbery have been left to grow unattended reducing the narrow fairways further still. There are bare patches everywhere and the general fairway conditions are not good. It is now a scruffy course that will need considerable investment to address. It appeared to me the Health Club is where the investment has been not the Golf Club. I should mention the greens for some perverse reason are in very good condition.

Dog walkers everywhere, avoid this course if you want a nice relaxing day. If you like crufts then this is the course for you. Lost 2 balls to dogs taking them. Shame used to be a great course, nice tee off areas and great greens.

We played this course in May 2015 and complained straight away afterwards. normally the greens compensate for the poor fairways, bunkers and inconsiderate dog walkers although this year they were also in poor condition. needs money spent quickly or what has been a good course will will lost especially when the green fee was fairly high. emailed afterwards and never received the courtesy of an acknowledgement or reply.

Both me and my playing partner were left amazed at the poor condition of this course. Prior to the round the pro said that the course was \\\\\\\"a good track, in decent condition with some work needed\\\\\\\". Taking the following into consideration it is safe to say this is not at all accurate. In fact, we described the enjoyment of this course on par with \\\\\\\'a paper cut\\\\\\\'. \\\\\\\\Fairways: It was bizarre how little grass was on the fairway, it was bare and resembled something from the recent Attenborough Africa documentary.\\\\\\\\Bunkers: Given how close this course is to the sea it was also shocking to experience the bunkers, which I am almost certain consisted of \\\\\\\'ready break\\\\\\\' porridge oats. \\\\\\\\Greens: Regarding the greens, the positive to take is that they were green. Perhaps someone has misinterpreted the concept, as they were very green and it was easier to use a lob wedge than a putter to hit the hole. I recall my ball almost stopping on a weed as it approached the hole on the first green. We ended up not putting and just adding 2 shots onto our card, given these greens were the worst I have witnessed in 10 years of golf. \\\\\\\\Tee Box: these were actually in good condition, certainly relative to the other elements of the course. Having said that, the ball cleaners contained no water so utterly pointless. \\\\\\\\General: There were a couple of other funny moments, derived from people just walking on the course. On hole 8, a dog approached my playing partner and (unbeknown to him) was sniffing his ankle as he aimed to hit his ping G25 driver towards the hole. Another moment was when a man walked out of a bush wearing a hoodie, trousers and slippers (temperature around 21 C), which holted our play. \\\\\\\\Positives from the round were:\\\\1) leaving, \\\\2) the weather and \\\\3) not being bitten by the numerous dogs/random people walking the course. \\\\\\\\Would I play the course again? No, not even if it was free of charge. A very dissapointing experience and one that we were compelled to share. It has potential to be a good course with some mature parkland but major investment is needed.

After arriving at the complex we soon realised that the facilities and the lodge itself were definitely worth the money as were the first 4 holes on this ‘Championship’ course however as we got to the 5th Hole this all started to change. As one of us walked onto the tee box we were approached by a dog that was jumping up at us and was neither on a lead nor under control, I understand after playing that there is some public foot paths across the course (not mentioned on the website) so thought it was just a one off, which if it was the case we wouldn’t have minded so much however seeing as this happened multiple times on this course I do not believe this to be acceptable again for a Championship Course. This was not the only problem on the course, half way through mid swing there were inconsiderate dog walkers calling their dog’s names and playing fetch across our fairway, not to mention running across the green as we were trying to putt!! As we headed onto the back 9, there was someone flying a remote control aeroplane from a tee box which as you can imagine was extremely distracting as you are trying to tee off it was more like playing on a public park than playing on a ‘Championship Course’. We got to the 14th green yet again to be approached by another dog which ran onto the green and not only moved one of our balls but continued to try and chew it and run off with it, for us this was the final straw and at this point we walked off the course. After this experience we would not only never recommend it but we were certainly not playing it again the following day. NO REFUND OR RESPONCE TO VARIOUS E-MAILS.

Although billed as a challenging "championship" course, very disappointing. The course was very tatty, fairways were dry and unkempt, bunker maintenance non existent and the greens, although smooth and true needed a lot of work to bring them up to a reasonable standard. No single hole stood out as a "signature" hole, they all seemed a to be similar. (Raised tee, play over a valley to a raised green). The club house is smaller than my club's half way house and has an empty feel about it. If you're a member of any half decent golf club you will be extremely disappointed with the conditions and facilities. More of a municipal pay and play course.

Beware the dog walkers

Old Municipal course which, living locally, has become very expensive especially in the summer. I'm hoping this was due to covid but the price they ask and then you still have to contend with the dog walkers. Sorry guys but the course doesn't warrant what you are asking.

Umm!

Not my favourite course. There are a lot of footpaths going all over the course with dog walkers having priority. One or two of the holes were a bit "Micky Mouse"
