The course is in a leisure park somewhere in the general vacinity of the North Circular. The club house is, essentially, a gaggle of porta-cabins, one of which serves as a cafe serving the regular mix of sausage baps and styrofoam cupped tea and coffee. The toilets are surprisingly nice I must say and the locals have always struck me as very nice, polite and personable. Oddly, they have camping facilities for those who wish to holiday in Enfield. It paints an odd picture when you arrive but don't be fooled - the course itself I have always found to be in excellent condition, the price is more or less unrivalled and the views of the lake as you hack and slash your way around are an extremely pleasant break from the grey urban sprawl of the surrounding area.
I whole heartedly recommend this course, if I lived locally, I would certainly be pleased to play this more weekends then not.
A word of warning, if you are the type that requires a beer after your round, make sure you've got a local pub in mind as they do not make sales of alcohol on site.

I agree with the reviews already listed-This course is a tight course that requires some accurate tee shots, and a great deal of course management and thought out shots. I usually play whitewebbs in enfield and was greatly suprised in this course condition. The greens are well kept and undulate like the skin of a raisin. Which can only improve a persons ability to putt. I would recommend this course and as a beginner to score a 90 on my first visit, I was extremely happy. I found this course to be challenging but no two holes are the same and thats what keeps the interest. The par 3, hole 7 has a beautiful green that if you hit it, your fine. Drop short, right or left and you will find yourself in one of the delightful bunkers.Reviewer Rating

The best bit about this course is there greens,i have played many a dearer course around the country and not played on greens as good as leaside's.
This course is not overly long but has a few testing holes which are tight and can be demanding in places and will have you reaching for every club in your bag during your round.
There is a very small pro shop with friendly staff as well as a small canteen serving hot/cold drinks and rolls/sandwiches.
It is advisable to book for week ends but during the week you can more or less just walk on.
Overall i would recommend this course to any one.

It has its place in the world
The negative...- Tee boxes aren't in great condition.
- Fairway grass is too long. Some of it feels like you are in light rough.
- Greens are in bad condition and are unrealistically slow.
- The clientele don't seem to care about repairing pitchmarks
- Bunkers are just not maintained properly.
The positive...
- Price is reasonable
- Some very tight and challenging holes for any level of player
- Superb course design
- No stuffy dress code
- Open to all
Summary...
I generally play at private clubs and if you are used to courses in very good condition you will be disappointed. However, this is a low priced, municipal course and expectations should be set accordingly. This is a fabulous facility for the beginner, high handicapper or anyone returning to the game after a long break. It's worth having a look if you're a better player, the challenging layout might just tempt you back. It has its place in the world... it's open, accessible, cheap and will attract non-golfers and beginners as well as more regular golfers. Despite the condition, I actually enjoyed my round and the challenge. I'll definitely be back as I have a son who has just taken up the game and for this it is perfect.
I couldn't help thinking that with just a bit more maintenance and management this course could be one of the best.... but then again, it wouldn't serve the community as it does today.
