Course layout is good - greens are poor
no facilities despite having a lovely big 'empty' building

Unsure.

Disappointed having had good reviews from others. Think the heavy wind may have tainted the course slightly for me, but cons amongst other things (in order of experiencing them); the green fees cannot be paid using a debit/credit card, the rough is SO thick, that I lost 4/5 balls today having only just missed the fairway, there are no yardage markers around the course making it difficult for a visitor, the layout of the holes is cramped to a point where on one occasion we played towards the 16th green from the 14th tee box mistakenly, the slow pace of play from other golfers on the course was drastic. With their being a wind turbine situated at the top end of the course, I imagine that wind it prevalent, and think there are only 3/18 holes where you play WITH the prevailing wind and the rest are into it or across it, which is quite challenging/frustrating.
On the plus side, the condition of the fairways and greens was genuinely excellent given that i've had to play it due to my club being closed due to wet conditions. Will try again in the summer.

A pleasant course with well manicured, generous fairways. The greens however are disappointing and bunkers could do with more sand. Course staff and owners very amicable and welcoming. Such a shame that there is no bar on site.

I played this course on a very cold winters day with heavily frosted greens and rock hard fairways so maybe not the best day to judge its merits! However its a very relaxed privately run club, everybody is welcome and most of the time you can play without even having to book a tee time. On the downside, there is no bar!

I am adding some more to my last course review, I was at Throston with my Golf Society. I was unable to pay due to leg Injury, all the commets made about No Dress Code were from my golf society members. But I can confirm about a some players playing in sports clothing and sports Trainers I was next to the 9th and 18th greens and next to the 10th Tee, watching to golf.
