What The Club Says
High Throston is in a great location, with fantastic views over the Tees Bay and Cleveland Hills. Whilst far from the easist course, it is not the most challenging course, making it a great test for all level of golfer.

Course has a lot of potential with its location and layout etc
Visually, the course looks stunning, with a lovely clubhouse and friendly staffIt’s let down by the course condition however. Greens were in very poor condition and the fairways were as long as the 2nd cut.

Played yesterday £10 for 9 holes glad I didn't pay for 18 as the course is a disgrace seen better farmers fields actually it would of been better playing in a farmers field course is not getting looked after at all greens are terrible Bobby Charlton had more hair than the grass on the greens tea boxes are the same wouldn't play there for freeReviewer Rating

poor
Absolute rubbish, been playing for 20 years and this is by far the worst course ive ever played. The greens have no sprinkler system, so have not been watered this year. Garbage, and £30 on a weekend.Reviewer Rating

Appalling
Absolutely disgraceful conditions on the course. Before I even get to the greens a word on tee boxes, fairways and bunkers. Tee boxes are uneven and not cut so like teeing up in the rough. Fairways have no definition to the rough and only one cut in the rough anyway. Bunkers have no rakes in most and where they do, they’re full of weeds and snapped rakes. Greens have 4/5 different types of grass/weed on them and it’s like putting on a fairway-a poor fairway at that. Again, there isn’t any definition from Green to fringe and the flags lean (always) on every hole as they’re the incorrect size for the holes. £25 on a weekend is ridiculous £20 Mon-Fri also. Keep your money and go on a local field. RubbishReviewer Rating

Like a Patchwork Quilt
Not been to this course for 3 years, but decided to give it a go today, BOY do I wish I saved my money. The whole course was scruffy, every fairway and green was a patch work, after 5 holes, I was so dissapointed, I left. Save your money, travel to Wynyard, Stokesley, MIddlesbororugh or Saltburn, they are one hundred times better than the state of this course.Reviewer Rating

improving all the time
since new management it has come on leaps an dbounds. Yes a couple of months ago the greens got worse, but that was because it was the start of the greens being looked after and revived and they had to get worse before they get better. They now have around 3 groundsmen including a qualified greenkeeper. the greens have been hollowtined and sanded and they are improving all the time. yes they aren't the fastest or undulating of greens but they are a lot better than they have been. They have a bar and food available now as well as a great Teaching pro with a simulator on site now. its going from strength to strength and a great course for the price.Reviewer Rating
