Unsure.

Disappointed having had good reviews from others. Think the heavy wind may have tainted the course slightly for me, but cons amongst other things (in order of experiencing them); the green fees cannot be paid using a debit/credit card, the rough is SO thick, that I lost 4/5 balls today having only just missed the fairway, there are no yardage markers around the course making it difficult for a visitor, the layout of the holes is cramped to a point where on one occasion we played towards the 16th green from the 14th tee box mistakenly, the slow pace of play from other golfers on the course was drastic. With their being a wind turbine situated at the top end of the course, I imagine that wind it prevalent, and think there are only 3/18 holes where you play WITH the prevailing wind and the rest are into it or across it, which is quite challenging/frustrating.
On the plus side, the condition of the fairways and greens was genuinely excellent given that i've had to play it due to my club being closed due to wet conditions. Will try again in the summer.

Fantastic course

I have played this course on numerous occasions and had a fantastic day everytime.
The course consists of average challenging holes through out and is exciting for all levels of player. You can have a serious game or a great day out relaxing and chipping along.
The view is stunning and is in my opinion the best course around the Durham and Cleveland area. The condition is always excellent as well.

Very Impressed

Visiting Family in the Local Area, Had a round at High Throston. Considering you can just turn up and play I was very pleasantly surprised with the course condition. The layout is very good which makes it a great scoring golf course. A challenging Par 3 up the hill is the only hole you have to think hard about. One very short Par 5 dog leg to the right, Driver and a short iron. Very impressed will 100% play again when visiting Family.

Great open spacious course plenty of hills to get some good exercise in, but suggest a buggie to get around and save some energy
