Well laid out course. Would definitely recommend to anyone to get a buggy. It's very hilly. The greens were quite grassy, but not that slow. Some good thinking holes, and the rough is ROUGH. An enjoyable course, better than a locally similar hotel/golfing complex.

Course is always very good but greens really need to be addressed as very patchy. You could possibly give a bit of lee way due to the hot weather earlier in the year but 4 or 5 greens were the poorest I’ve seen for a long time

With the fairways drying out this was a tough course and one that you had to manage your way around

Mixed feelings course

Has some interesting holes but hole 1 runs alongside a very difficult hole in the opposite direction and there are often holdups with players playing off the wrong fairways. Greens are in good nick . It is a very hilly course and for us older people walking for instance from hole 16 to hole 17 leaves one needing a rest before teeing off. Would not recommend eating in the bar. Food and drink very expensive

Never played here before, it was a good test off the whites and a good long walk. Overall the course was in good condition, however I think will be very heavy going after prolonged periods of rain. Some really lovely views,

Playing easier with rough being cut back ,greens not great after scarifying and a bit of close scalping the odd soft spot due it seems to leaking sprinklers a few bunkers could do with a bit of TLC sand wise a bit hard and Stoney all in all though a good challenge

This seems to be the 18 hole course as it was originally built (Hellidon 9 and Lakes 9), before 9 further holes were added (Valley 9), some of which are very short par 4's. As a single course, I would be pleased to play it again, but I would not recommend the additional holes, where tees are too close to driving lines, and in one case (2nd hole on the Valley 9), where only half of the green could be seen because of trees, making you aim out left trying to fade the ball, only to find that there is a tee straight ahead (also hidden by trees), at the same distance off the tee as the green you're aiming at. Luckily there was no-one teeing off, as I put 2 balls on that tee!!!
Bunkers seemed to be OK. Most of the rough was very long - a lot of balls were lost by our party of about 24 players. Buy a stroke saver (£4) and it will help you figure out where you are going. Some very tiring slopes to negotiate, with bumpy paths which were a struggle with pull or motor trolleys. The greens were the real test - vicious slopes which were not easy to read. We found it easier to play holes the second time around, but still struggled to allow enough turn on putts!
