Save your money
Played Downshire on Sunday 7th April i have never seen this course in such a bad condition fourth is a temporary green parts of 15th and 16th partioned of as GUR the greens are in a bad condition with mud patches all over them so at this moment i would save your money i will not play again for about two months to see if they can improveReviewer Rating

Half course was closed due to poor weather. Poorly maintained, fairways hadn't be cut. Only found out the back 9 was closed after we were on the 12th. Ordered to play the front 9 again by staff. Disappointing that we weren't informed of course closure when we rang and then when we turned up to play.
Course shouldn't be open in the current condition that it's in.

Not great
Fairly short course took over 5 hours to play on a saturday. The greens are not very good and the sand in the most bunkers is more like cat litter.Reviewer Rating

Really gone down hill
I've been playing at downshire for a couple of years and used to look forward to a round down there. Since taken over by everyone active however, it's really gone downhill. The course is poorly kept and the greens are a bit of a joke. I would give them a bit of slack as some maintainence work was done on a couple of greens but after a year you?d think it would be playable. I will say that the bunkers are kept quite well. I've played many courses for less money that are much better overall. It's quite a narrow challenging course which helps it's case.Really miss the half way hut for food and coffee

Played on a friday lunch time and it took 5 hours. It didnt start very well when we went to pay and the guy behind the counter had a strop because we wanted to pay two green fees at the same time. I mean how hard is it to figure it out. There was a starter on the first tee which was good but i feel he should of been out on the course speeding people up?
The tee areas were really poor but the rest of the course in good condition.
At half way there is a cafe type area but that leads to more delays as we had to let a two ball in because they stopped for food. When i suggested going behind us and pairing up with the two ball behind us he laughed it off. Don't people pair up anymore?
Overall course average, staff rude and very very slow.

I have played downshire on many occasions but this is first time this year and have never known th
e course to be in such a poor condition greens and fairways need a lot of work its a shame to see a course go down so much.
