Mudfest
Disappointed sums it up. I thought with a euro pro tour being here the other week the course would have been in decent nick even in October.Even taken into account the rain the fairways where some of the worst I've seen. More mud than grass.
Greens ok but so many pitch marks not repaired and patches making for a bobbly surface.
Good layout and challenging back nine.

Corporate golf course at best
Have played Mottram a few times now and got to say this time around showing signs of neglect in places, yes it's winter but it's been dry so no excuse for not cutting fairways at least. Most tee beds being returfed so temporary tees in place making it a little shorter than normal. Greens also looking a bit worse for wear in need of some much needed TLC.Reviewer Rating

Great course, painful pace of play
I really enjoy playing here. The course layout and forgiveness and overall quality make it an enjoyable round. However, the pace of play was unbelievably slow so we decided to walk in after 11 holes. Shames as the last 7 are some of the best. I would join but the prospect of tolerating such slow play would kill me.Reviewer Rating

Nice course, worth playing
Second time around Mottram, this time as part of a corporate event. Friendly welcome in pro shop, good practice facilities. Course suffering due to extended heat wave, fairways quite bare and hard, in desperate need of rain. Greens good and well maintained. Quite a easy walk around front 9, back 9 a little more up and down. Well run corporate venue, ideal for society golf.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 82 Handicap: 5.1)

Golf was there but with wet conditions, just missing fairways and having long 1st cut cost me shots through distance. Putting, chipping leaving ball short all took toll .

Love the course and the setting in Cheshire, bit disappointed playing off a few temp Tee's. Overall in good condition for this time of year.

The course is in very good condition all round, anyone who has played here knows it's a game of to halves, the front nine is very flat and the back nine is a lot more interesting with a lot more twists and turns, the practice area is to the left of the first tee and you need to purchase a token from the pro shop but at £3 for 25 balls it's not good value at all, likewise the pull a long trolleys care £5 per round which I think is steep, friendly staff are always a bonus and they were friendly here

we played when it was warm but windy which made it difficult on the front nine because the front nine is fairly open and wide. The back nine is a lot tighter ad testing. The greens were alright but could have done with a cut, when putting out on the greens i noticed that there were a awful lot of unprepared pitch mark, that really spoilt the greens, you would think that at a De vere resort the greens would be in better condition
