What the club says: Mottram Golf Course (De Vere Mottram Hall)
The par 72 championship golf course was designed by the international golf architect, Dave Thomas. The course is set in magnificent undulating park and woodland, with tree lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers all combining to offer golfers a memorable golfing experience. With straight driving a prerequisite at Mottram, golfers are advised to make full use of the driving range before stepping out on this challenging and enjoyable course.
What Golfshake says: One of the longest and toughest in the De Vere family and you need to be on your game here. EuroPro events come here for a reason!

A little bit disappointed with the general condition of the greens.
The first cut of rough was punishing. The long rough was unplayable!

Fairways not cut
It is not often that you can lose balls on fairways but it happened several times during our round because the fairways appeared to not have been cut for weeks. This combined with so many leaves meant that there was no definition on the course. All the courses in the area have had seriously wet weather over recent weeks but this was by far the worst condition of any that we have played recently. The majority of bunkers appeared to also not have been raked and were full of animal and golfers footprints. Even lift ,clean and place throughout the green could not make this an enjoyable experience. Halfway hut closed.Staff in the Club House were friendly but food quality was moderate, dry sliced brown bread for the sandwiches, poorly made.

Love this course
I have played this course many times. The facilities are excellent, with the 19th, always a good place to reflect on your game. The back 9 of the course is definitely more challenging, but overall Mottram Hall is always worth a visit. That said, the Tee, boxes, were in very poor condition for this time of year, and needed some attention. !!(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: 18.5)

Played April 12th & 13th part of a 24 man group stay, main areas of concern were the poor condition os some greens & teesMany greens had bare patches or even holes especially the 15th green which was awful
Tees were either newly laid or were in such poor condition that it was difficult to find a decent piece of turf to play your tee shot from
If Mottram Hall wants to be to taken seriously has a top notch course to match their prices these areas of concern need some serious attention.
On a positive note the course is a good test especially the back nine with holes 12,13 & 17 especially very difficult par fours.
Tha overnight stay in the hotel was very good, with a great breakfast.

Green were a bit patchy and difficult to get a positive put on

Corporate golf course at best
Have played Mottram a few times now and got to say this time around showing signs of neglect in places, yes it's winter but it's been dry so no excuse for not cutting fairways at least. Most tee beds being returfed so temporary tees in place making it a little shorter than normal. Greens also looking a bit worse for wear in need of some much needed TLC.

Nice hotel nice course

Mottram in July
Great condition, challenging hole placement, tee boxes starting to be affected by the weather.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: )

Terry Briody
Very good with wide fairways and superb greens.Tees are bare with a sandy covering but I guess this is
Because of over use?

A few of the greens were not in good condition for the time of the year
Second fairway was very poor and several of the tee areas had no grass on them
This could be due to the warm weather in the summer
