Staff very friendly and helpful.
Played on a charity auction lot, so good on them for donating the fourball plus buggies.
One of the best courses in West Sussex.
Play if you can

What you want a golf club to be.
I love this course it's in a great setting and has some fantastic holes. Always welcoming and has always been in good condition when I've played it. Currently undergoing new bunkers to the whole course but what a place it will be when complete this summer. Try it.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful views
Two different days of golf- one that was wet and the other that was dry and sunny. Course coped well with the rain which was a deluge and dried quickly for the following day where the greens were fast and tricky- many undulations. Course offers all golfers a challenge so well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

Good but could be so much better
Beautiful golf course in some of the finest scenery and countryside in West Sussex. Very pleasant club house and changing facilities, golf shop more of a kiosk than a shop and dreary staff in there, who looked like they'd rather be anywhere else, than serving punters. Some fine holes, especially on the front 9, but very disappointed to find so many unrepaired divots on the fairways and some of the greens. A decent half way house, but closed on the day and some members I met, moaned about the fact it is closed more than it's open. No sign of any marshals and no sign of anyone in the starter hut, disappointing given the stature of the club and it's reputation. Slow play an issue in places, no doubt some of the octogenarian members shuffling their way round with the usual 'thou shalt not pass' attitude. Liberal attitude to dress code, some very casual attire worn by some players I saw, again disappointing.Come on Cowdray. Let's have everyone properly dressed, let's have a couple of marshals out in buggies on the course and let's sharpen up a bit. The club feels like it needs a breath of fresh air, feels a bit stuck in a rut, feels like it's living on reputation. You have a very good course, yet the golfing experience felt me wanting more.
