Cowdray GC is a wonderful layout. The fairways and tees are superb, the bunkers are well designed and filled with proper sand and the greens are flawless. The clubhouse is warm and inviting, the food is of the highest standard and the staff are friendly. There is no shortage of things to do on site - and there is plenty to do within striking distance.

First time round here. Lovely course in great condition despite the recent prolonged wet weather. Greens were excellent and rolled well. Nice variety amongst the various holes and an excellent challenge. More of a walk that anticipated as there's a fair bit of elevation change as you go round. Decent value at £40 twilight rate. Friendly in the pro shop. Clubhouse looked very nice but I didn't pop in. Would love to play it again in the summer.

The scenery was beautiful and the course was kept in great condition. It was challenging but still enjoyable. The staff were friendly and the condition of the course was excellent, considering the hot temperatures. I also loved the lovely rolling parkland course, and the club house had great food. Highly recommend this course for those looking for an elite golf experience.

Beautiful Condition
Not the cheapest but grab a twilight deal and you won't feel so bad.The course as you would expect in August on a hot day, was flawless. Stunning,

Fantastic course and hospitallity
I played here for the first time in November with H2KGS, a well established society. We have had an enormous amount of rain over the last 6 weeks and the week before I was on a course in mud that really shouldn't have been open. Cowdray was in very good condition from T, fairway bunkers through to greens. Can't wait to go back. I would recommend to anyone.Reviewer Rating

Exceptional condition and beautiful course

My home course is looking great at this time of the year. They have repaired the sprinkler system which was damaged a few years ago which will help maintain the course during the year. The greens are very challenging but in great nick and we have a few new t boxes open.

Organised another society event after having a great day last year and we weren’t disappointed. The facilities are excellent and we were made to feel extremely welcome by every member of staff we came into contact with. The delicious buffet breakfast was a big reason we came back and was just as good as before and was the perfect start to the day.
The course was in beautiful condition. There was some work being done to the sprinkler system on all fairways but we were warned about this ahead of the day and it was simply a case of having a free drop for GUR if your ball ended up in these areas. The greens were fantastic and very fast. I didn’t struggle getting players for this one and it was obvious why. I’m sure we’ll take even more next year. Can’t recommend Cowdray enough. Great staff, great views, great course and superb value for money in my opinion.

Annual Hare & Hounds Society Visit
This has now become a staple venue for our society based in Worthing. Firstly, a great buffet style brekkie. The course is always in great condition fairways especially were in great shape this visit April 2018. Interesting undulating greens and bunkers with plenty of sand! Society Day
We had an another excellent day at Cowdray Park. Every part of our day was excellent. A substantial and delicious Breakfast before Golf, 18 holes on a course that was in great condition when you take into account the time of year and the recent stormy weather. The greens were excellent and tested our putting more than usual for this time of year. The Stroke index's had changed from our visit last year which caught a few of us out as we had worked out in our heads where we were going to score those extra stapledord points. Our two course Carvery Evening meal was equally as delicious and plentiful, the Sussex Licensee's GS do love a buffet style breakfast and dinner!!! Everyone at the club is so helpful and accommodating, we return every year and are delighted each time. Never known the course to be closed and is therefore in our opinion the best course you could play in January for a perfect day. Value for money exceptional golf day experience. Annual Greyfriars Golfing Society meeting at this excellent course near Midhurst. All course details provided by the starter on the 1st tee. Course fully open with no temporary tees or greens. All staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Golf followed by the usual high quality dinner and Christmas extras. Already booked for next year.

Despite high expectations, this is both a course & club that doesn't disappoint. Actully, that's not true. If you're looking for a course where you're guaranteed a flat lie from the fairway then you've come to the wrong place. However, if you're okay with a course where it helps to be part mountain goat, then you'll love Cowdray Park.
When we played the course it had been after a couple of days of heavy, February rain, so the greens and fairways were a little softer than one might hope for, but it was clear to see that this is a track that receives a fair bit of TLC.
The fairways are pretty forgiving from the tee, but the greens are fairly well protected by a lot of deep bunkers. The heavy sand doesn't make them any easier to navigate out of them.
As suggested earlier, there are a number of climbs and drops to be negotiated, but that's just part of the local terrain that provides a very scenic backdrop to Cowdray Park, and is a big part of why it's such a delight to play there.
You can pick any number of favourite holes here, but I'm going to go with the 4th, a dogleg par 4 that climbs left and up around trees, with views of the South Downs to the right.
As for the club, I got a very warm welcome in the pro shop, and the breakfast was as good a breakfast as I've ever had anywhere.

Played on a Friday morning. Although we were behind a society and play was slightly slow, we had a great round. Love the course, in great condition, and we had a 2 for 1 voucher so had a buggy and it made it even better. Cowdray own brewed beer after was lovely.
