Course in great condition post lockdown

Didn't expect such good confitions after lockdown. Greens in particular were excellent and bunkers clean. Plenty of rain in previous two days had helped a bit but compared to toher local courses the greens are exceptional.

Good but could have been great

For Jan the majority of the course is in amazing shape, greens fantastic, fairways pretty good a few soggy parts ( thank you winter rules). However, just a couple of things really let it down, the tee boxes were awful, not cut and often just moved to a random patch up grass that was wet and muddy. The pro shop had no idea where to send us for out meal deal and where shut by the time we finished at 1.30pm. Eventually made it to the hotel bar by 1.45 and told kitchen was shut for an hour.

Would go back to play in summer as it will be great.

Good Combination

I really enjoyed the combination of holes on the Cambridgeshire. Some you could have a go at, some where the trees made it tight, some where water came in to play & others with well placed bunkers.
I particularly enjoyed 16, 17 & 18 which were a superb finish to a nice round.
The course was in fantastic condition for early Jan, particularly the greens, which were excellent.
The hotel & the food was OK & the pro in the shop very helpful.

A good course

A well maintained course. Tight fairways and littered with ditches and tree lined fairways.

Enjoyed the game, liked the course, and its easy access to the M11. Would play again, but might wait for the roadworks to finish

Fantastic condition after maintenance

Spring maintenance, a week of sun then a week of rain meant the fairways and greens were in great condition. First hole over the water and then the ditch is always a nightmare at 7am with an audience, a good test of mind over matter. Can get very crowded at weekends with high handicappers so pick your time to play otherwise 3 hours can turn into 5.
