Worst golfing experience in a long time
Played as part of a society. Course should never have been open. Pooled water on greens and fairways. Couldn't putt because of puddles. Club were only too happy to take our money. 5 hour round in a swamp. Guy in the pro shop made it crystal clear he couldn't care less. Not enough staff on in the bar made for even more waiting around. Absolute shambles. One star is generous.Reviewer Rating

Beware the parking fee
The course it's self is great and have played it many times. But several years ago. This was to be a pleasant return to old haunts. it turned out not to be. I did not see the parking fee and ended up with a ?60 fine. All of which could have been avoided if the unhelpful staff had pointed out the computer to log into on arrival. On complaining I was told they would phone me back when they had sorted. No phone call. The pace of play was horrendous we were late off the Tee because of the two ball in front and had to wait upto 5 mins at nearly every hole as the course backed up and no one let anyone through. Overall an awful experience I would not wish to repeat.Reviewer Rating

On top of that the noise from the A14 makes relaxing on the course impossible.
I have no idea why people rate this club, maybe its snobbery but I have found several of the local lesser known clubs much better on so many levels.
Average course, poorly maintained.
Shame

Expensive
The course was in good condition. Not a lot of feature though and very similar holes. Ok the buggies were brand new but seriously....£30 for a buggy, ridiculous. How do you ever hope to speed up play when you charge those prices?(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 103 Handicap: 14.7)

The greens in general were poor. Littered with pitchmarks and bobbly.
The fairways were long and no roll.
I didnt go into the bunkers but by the looks of things they wernt too bad.
Nice variaty of holes. Including a 220 yard par 3.
For £25 Im not sure if I would rush back.

Nice course shame about staff and hotel
Course was in good shape, pro shop very limited,I personally think this is a hotel that caters for weddings and alike and the golf comes second.Bar staff inexperienced and slow when we visited.Reviewer Rating

The Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill.
well maintained parkland course. Greens in good condition. Very true with no horrendous subtle borrows. Bunkers well swept so easy to negotiate. All round nice course. Unfortunatley no refreshment available after. It is a hotel and for hotel guests only.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 86 Handicap: 14.1)

Good but could have been great
For Jan the majority of the course is in amazing shape, greens fantastic, fairways pretty good a few soggy parts ( thank you winter rules). However, just a couple of things really let it down, the tee boxes were awful, not cut and often just moved to a random patch up grass that was wet and muddy. The pro shop had no idea where to send us for out meal deal and where shut by the time we finished at 1.30pm. Eventually made it to the hotel bar by 1.45 and told kitchen was shut for an hour.Would go back to play in summer as it will be great.

Good Combination
I really enjoyed the combination of holes on the Cambridgeshire. Some you could have a go at, some where the trees made it tight, some where water came in to play & others with well placed bunkers.I particularly enjoyed 16, 17 & 18 which were a superb finish to a nice round.
The course was in fantastic condition for early Jan, particularly the greens, which were excellent.
The hotel & the food was OK & the pro in the shop very helpful.
